As part of the overall effort of the Department of Education to develop policies that are supported by evidence, Toledo City Division intends to promote sound governance and effective curriculum implementation through evidence-based decision- making practices at all levels.
Along this line, all teaching and non-teaching personnel of SDO Toledo are encouraged to conduct action and basic research to gather relevant information as regards to challenges and gaps confronting the implementation of the Basic Education Curriculum in order to figure out the best intervention that meets the challenge head on. Thus, this Research Guide Compilation is designed to serve as reference for teachers and research enthusiasts who plan to conduct research.
This compilation is also intended to help DepEd officials and educators in their effort to advance multidisciplinary research that will eventually address urgent educational concerns and gaps.
All teaching and non-teaching staff can use this research guide to organize, process, present, and publish their research articles. To meet the objective of ongoing school performance improvement, the materials in this collection will assist each staff in developing a better understanding on how to do both basic and action research. The core thematic areas of the Department's research agenda, including teaching and learning processes, child protection, human resource development, governance, inclusive education, gender and development, disaster readiness, and risk reduction management, are the foundation for all research papers.
