Rizal Central School is situated at the southeastern part of the municipality of Rizal. It is located within the town proper. It is on a school site containing an area of 31,807 square meters. In 1933, the Local Municipal Council of Malaueg had reserved this public land for the school site of Rizal Central School along Blumentrit St. and Palma St.
In 1934, Rizal Central School was established. The first school building erected was the Gabaldon building which housed the pupils from grades one to six. There were few pupils enrolled. Only three combination classes were organized with four teachers assigned with a principal. The pioneer teachers were Mr. Mariano Casuple Grade I-II teacher; Mr. Vicente Asistores, Grade III-IV; Mr. Jacinto Sibal, Grade V-VI teacher; Mr. Tamaray, Industrial Arts Teacher; and Mr. Salvador Mabazza was the Principal.
From time to time, as school officials and teachers come and go, the school population increased. Pupils from nearby barrios enrolled in the Central School as there were no school in the neighboring barrios of Batu, Anagguan, Mabbang, Duyun, and Sinicking. The number of teachers in the Central School likewise increased.
The Municipal Government under the leadership of the Late Paberiano Palmea had put up additional building to cater to the needs of the school.
In 1937, the pioneer teachers who were seventh grade graduates were relieved by a new crop of teachers who were graduates of High School and Elementary Teacher Certificates (ETC). During those times, Rizal, Tuao and Piat belong to only one district under the supervision of Mr. Agustin Palattao, the District Supervisor and the seat of the district was in Piat.
During the Japanese occupation, the town had its share of chaos that the country experienced. The Japanese officials made the school buildings as their garrison. Colonel Blackburn and his guerrilla boys liberated the town sometime in 1934. Col. Blackburn and his men converted the Gabaldon building into their temporary headquarters. When the Americans vacated the school and peace was restored in the locality, classes had resumed.
As years went by, the enrolment in Rizal Central School had increased demanding the putting up of a pre-fab classroom buildings including the Industrial Arts building and the Home Economics building.
Today, Rizal Central School has a far picture from the past. Gone were all the old buildings which are now replaced by new buildings called Bagong Lipunan, Marcos Type, Type BA, and Multi-purpose. Because of the changes of times, the school has acquired enough rooms for all the classes. School Library, conference hall and administrative offices for the principal. Now, it has a lot of improvement which is also comparable to other central schools in high class municipalities.
