The Peñablanca Central School now Peñablanca West Central School is the largest school in the Municipality of Peñablanca located in the middle of barangay Camasi and barangay Centro which is exactly at the top of the hill along the highway road.
The school started when the land owner with his tenants and other barrio folks initiated to make a school so as the children will not be going to other barangay to attend schooling.
With a big number of children to be nurtured in the place, the people in the place agreed to organize classes, utilizing the said small buildings as school. There were only two teachers permanently teaching the children.
In 1952 the PTA built a school building it was formally named as Peñablanca Central School in the Division of Cagayan. The school building made by the community was not enough to accommodate the increasing number of children attending school so the government gave aid for the construction of new concrete school buildings.
The population of the school children gets bigger and bigger. Buildings were built, and the school progressed during the succeeding years and was named as Peñablanca West Central School.
More buildings were built. Now the school has 3 entrance gates, gymnasium, H.E. building, Computer room, 23 classrooms and the District office.
