ABSTRACT
This study determined the effect of Reading Comprehension Intervention Material in Addressing the Least Reading Comprehension Level in Grade 5 Phil – IRI Group Screening Test (GST).
The study used descriptive – developmental research design. It is descriptive as it will identify the least answered comprehension level for the Phil – IRI Group Screening Test for school year 2019 – 2020 and developmental as it aims to develop manipulative reading intervention material as supplementary material in improving the performance of low performing pupils in English – Reading Comprehension.
The Reading Comprehension Intervention Material can be considered as an effective tool in remediating low performing pupils in their Reading Comprehension Skills as in the case of the researcher in Ong Yiu Central Elementary School. This was also patterned in the idea of Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) making with various studies that promote the effectiveness of the material in class remediation.
