Welcome to the website of Peñablanca East Central School, the school of the builder.
Thank you too for visiting PECS website.
In this most challenging time in our life which is caused by the pandemic, everyone and everything is being affected. However, we in the education sector particularly in our school are doing our best to be able to cater to the kind of instruction that we offer through Modular Learning. With this modality, you are performing a great job as teachers of your own children now. We believe you are doing your best to guide and support them because you love them just as we love them too. Doing multiple tasks as parents or guardians coupled with the responsibility of teaching and guiding them with their daily lessons is such a difficult thing to do. Nevertheless, we assure you that the communication lines between and among you and the teachers are open 24/7 through the created Group chats by the teachers for any concern you want to verify regarding the lessons contained in the modules of your children.
Indeed, learning and instruction may be so different this year, yet what will never change is our commitment to serving our learners, families and community with care, compassion and dedication. The PECS Family is here to serve you in times of joy, happiness and triumph, sorrow, challenges, struggles and failures because we are one family. As one family, we love to work with all of you for the attainment of our vission, mission, goal and objective of providing wholesome development for every learner academically, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually, thus making them become responsible, hardworking and trustworthy citizens of our beloved Philippines.
We, therefore, ask for your continued support of all the programs, projects and activities of our school. We appreciate all the support - big and small for you are our great partners.
Our website is a valuable source of information. Every message that we send out to families can be found on our website, along with our newsletters and other important information.
PECS School is a community school. A place of learning where you and your children belong. Thank you for being a part of our community and school. Please let us know how we can help your PECS experience even better!

How do we fight an unseen and completely an adversary? I remember the line in a horror movie, " you can run but you can never hide". Isn't that exactly how things are going on right now? Eights months ago since the pandemic began, I remember on the 12th day of March when we had a convo with Mrs. Nemita Lingan, a Grade 6 adviser like me, about the 12 people who were recorded the first local transmission in the Philippines of COVID-19 and cases keep on surging. The battle seems to be controlled by this mysterious villain.
Can we reflect where do we fail short to stay beaten? Several issues have been impose by the Provincial Gov'tment down to the Barangay's support to slow down if not to eliminate this pandemic.
Our life in this world will always be in some state of war. That's because there will always things to conquer and things to defend for as long as we live. That's how things are. And we should just be ready to deal with this kind of life-long condition most specially on this time of pandemic.
We also learn to be close to God. We should have no doubt that our ultimate goal is to be what God's wants us to become, that is, for us to be his image and likeness. His adopted children meant to share in His life for all eternity.
And so with the coming of the pandemic, we would have first of all keep practices of piety aside from following the protocols that would keep our spiritual and super natural bearing intact as we cruise our journey of life. And that is praying.. which I did.. which I know I did cordially because of my worries that this pandemic brought to our lives. This definitely will require a discipline from all of us. At the beginning, we might feel awkward, and having some difficulties. But if we persevere, this kind of discipline will come to us like an instinct.
And from the primary measures laid by the government, we share our contribution to fight this invisible foe. Our obedience combined with sincerity and faith in God is all I've gotten. This too, shall come to pass. We believe we MUST always adhere that there is nothing hard to beat when we fight as one...even the unseen..
Altogether, let us adapt to the situation with optimism.. GOD BLESS EVERYONE!
Modular Learning in the New Normal
by: Silveria M. Cabildo, T-III
Change is the common Filipino response to any sudden change of activity encountered. It may be used as slapstick expression most of the time but this may connote two different things: positive and negative articulations.
Penablanca east central school Under the Department of Education carried out the guidelines given by the Inter-Agency-Task Force (IATF) in the conduct of Modular Distance Learning (MDL) which started on October 5, 2020.
During the distribution, parents are requested to go to school and receive the modules of their children. Schedules were announced by the teacher-advisers to their Group Chat, calls or texts to the parents in order for them to be guided on the date to distribute or retrieve modules or learning activity sheets since teachers are following skeletal workforce schedule designed by the IATF and strictly followed by the Department as a part of the safety protocol.
The protocols and changes are challenging not only the workforce and work techniques of the teachers, but the capability and flexibility of the parents and pupils. Let us then compose ourselves as mature, responsible and self-disciplined individuals minding our health and safety, as well as our academic responsibilities in achieving our full potentials.
Thus, as the department and the country strive hard to still catch up with the changes, everyone was left no choice but to deal with the new normal.

The present pandemic has brought about extra ordinary challenges and has affected the educational sector. To sustain and provide quality education despite lockdown and community quarantine, the new normal should taken into consideration in the planning and implementation of the new normal educational policies, strategies and norms.
Our department has planned different modalities to ensure that our learners will continue to learn and develop their holistic well-being which commensurate to the present situation in their respective home places.
During the Learner Enrolment and Survey Form's (LESF) monitoring and evaluation. most of our parents preferred Modular-printed Modules as an alternative mode to the latter style which is the face to face learning. Printed materials such as modules, worksheets and activity sheets are use to reach our learners which aims to provide an access to basic quality education through a home-based environment where parents, siblings, guardians or tutors who have knowledge to assist their children in explaining or tutoring with regards to the content of the printed materials.
Modules are being provided by the site of SDO Cagayan on line/link in which teachers are required to reproduce thru printing and Xeroxing. Prior to it, the adviser should review all contents before its reproduction. These are given every Friday and which will be retrieved the next Friday. The cycle will continue. And we try to assist them thru' messenger if there are queries.

Taguinod has given recognition together with other 2019 Provincial Meet winners last December 4, 2019. The native of Penablanca during the Provincial Meet told the KWEBA he didn't take the sports seriously when he first played in the 6th grade and just last last year, Taguinod realized he wanted to take his game to the next level. "Nung una po nilalaro ko lang, kasi basketball ang gusto ko, pero nung gusto ko na pong sumali sa athletic meet, nagseryoso po ako," he said.
The next day however, the 12-year old neophyte proved that someone doesn't have to be a regional athletic or Palarong Pambansa veteran to win a title as he clinched the first gold medal in shotput and 100m run of his entire sports career.
When asked on how to managed to best it all in the two events, Taguinod shares it is all because of being faithful to the game plan his coach taught him from day one.
"Sa tingin ko po nanalo ako kasi may disiplina po ako at sinusunod ko po lagi ang lahat ng trainings namin. Isa pa po natutulog ako ng maaga at ganun din po ang hindi pagkalimot sa POONG MAYKAPAL sa pagbibigay sa akin g lakas at sa aking kaligtasan sa tuwing ako'y may laro," he added.
