History
Northville 9 Resettlement Site in Iba O’ Este, Calumpit, Bulacan has a total land area of 12.8 hectares which was developed in March, 2005 to cater the needs of some 2,030 families in ten nearby barangays in the municipality. These families, who are affected of the National Relocation Program of the Philippine Government, have been transferred since November, 2006 through a housing program of the Housing Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) under the management of the country’s former Vice-President Noli De Castro.
The people of Northville 9 believe that education is the key to success and educating their children will make them better individuals. Though, high in spirit in sending their children to school, many of them have a hard time and financial constraints in making their views possible, and so, they strived harder to have a school in the community.
Through joint effort of HUDCC, the Local Intra- agency Committee (LIAC), the Local Government Unit (LGU) officials and members of Department of Education (DepEd) Calumpit District to the National Housing Authority (NHA), Northville 9 Elementary School was built. With their enthusiasm and mission to the public, the NHA has completed the construction of one unit three-storey fifteen-classroom school building on a sugar cane land with an area of 4 850 sq. m., which is located at Northville 9 resettlement site, in Barangay Iba O’ Este. The said building was then transferred to DepEd on May, 2010, where it is mandated to lead the implementation of the DepEd School Building Program (SBP).
After which, the first batch of pupils in Northville 9 Elementary School was accommodated. Hon. James P. de Jesus, the municipality mayor, provided the books and other school supplies to Grade I to Grade VI pupils. Ten contractual teachers, under the Special Education Fund of Calumpit, Bulacan, were assigned to teach together with utility workers and security guards who will take care of the safety and cleanliness of the school. Almost done with the goal of making education accessible to all, it was June 22, 2010 when Northville 9 Elementary School was launched and opened up to community children through the hardwork and leadership of the honorable municipality mayor, Dr. Regina C. Viray, District Supervisor, and Mrs. Myrna Y. Salvador, principal of the school.
