Barangay Narra is generally a peaceful barangay. Its people are known to be religious. Common dialects of the residents are Tanjayanons, (from Tanjay City), Siquijodnons (from Siquijor), and Illonggo (from Ilo-Ilo). The people from Tanjay are the settlemets in Narra arrived in 1956, while Siquijodnons and Ilonggos are gathered through migration. Barangay Narra was first known as Sitio Magsulay, which is part of Barangay Nangka. Due to its distance, the residents filed a petition addressed to Nangka Officials requesting to be an independent barangay. Sitio Magsulay became a barangay in 1960based on Repblic Act 3590. the initiative of the newly appointed leaders lead them to pass a resolution to change Bario Magsulay into Baryo Narra. The name is an acronym of the program of Pres. Magsaysay called NATIONAL AUTHORITY REHABILITATION RESETTLEMENT ADMINISTRATION (NARRA).
Barangay Narra is characterized by rolling hills with slopes of ten to fifteen (10-15) degrees. It is suited for the rice and corn production, sugarcane production, root crops, coffee, coconut and vegetables. The farmer residents and some businessmen/entrepreneurs are into farming activities because of its rich soil and is easier for them to market their products.
There are plenty means of livelihood of the people living in the barangay Proper. Some were engaged in businesses and majority members of residents engaged in farming. However, many residents owned a vast of lands, many of them were homelot and land owners.
The residents/youngsters are engaged in agricultural works such as weeding, planting and harvesting crops. The predominant crops are corn, rice, sugarcane, root crops and coconut. On the livestock and poultry production, the residents are raising cattle, carabao, goats, swine and poultry.
