Originally, there was only one district in the municipality of Tuao. But then in 1976, DECS Tuao was divided into two because of the great increase in enrolment in the different schools and likewise to the number of teachers.
Naruangan Central School became the center and the seat of the new district. This paved the way to the progress and development of the place. Access to education has been made easier to the Tuaenos due to the establishment of schools in the different barangays of Tuao District.
The school was founded in 1949. Miss Juana Maddatu became the first teacher who took charge up to 1957. During her term, a total area of 25, 950 square meters was reserved for the school by barangay officials headed by the late Municipal Councilor Leonardo Corsino Sr. The said lot was bounded by a barangay road in the north, south, east and west as reflected in the Tax Declaration which was issued after the Cadastral Survey in 1952 with Lot No. 1920.
Mrs. Emilia Sinuto succeeded from 1957 to 1971. Her husband simultaneously, was the barangay captain from 1968 to 1971. In their desire to improve and develop the school, the rest of the school site was planted of palay where in shares from it served as funds for improvement. When Mrs. Sinuto retired, the late Mr. Nemecio Yuaga took over from 1971 to 1976. He tiller no longer continued to cultivate the land since animals would eat their plants thereby affecting their harvest. Hence, the lot became idle and was tolerated as pasture areas for carabaos. With this, the teachers decided to fence a portion of the school to protect the school and the pupils from intruders and stray animals.
In 1976, Tuao East District was born. Mrs. Teresita F. Mayugba, newly promoted as Principal, was assigned head of the school.Mr. Eustaquio Maguigad was designated District Head.
Mrs. Mayugba left in 1988 with Mrs. Consuelo F. Baligod as Principal to take over, who headed the school up to 1996.
Mrs. Teresita F. Mayugba came back to Tuao East District as District Supervisor in September 1998. Mrs. Milagros L. Maddatu was also transferred to the Central School as Principal when Mrs. Clarita A. Lunas was promoted as ES-1 NFE to the Division Office.
Because of the people's unity and positive leadership of the Mamba’s, Naruangan, now Centro Tuao East, became highly competitive. The pace of development in Naruangan had taken a leap during the administration of the Mayor and Congressman Manuel N. Mamba. Socio-economic development had advanced as well as the quality of education. Enrolment increased and the school’s population is growing rapidly. There is a new Vocational and Technical School, a gymnasium, a parish church, a productive public market, an LGU Sub-Office and a police station and the development of a tourist spot, the Cassily Lake Resort. All these are found in Naruangan, where the Central School is located.
With the support and encouragement of the DepEd and the Local Government officials, Naruangan Central School will soon reach its full scale of development. Facilities such as athletic grounds with permanent equipment, playground with complete apparatuses, school gymnasium, botanical garden and productive nursery will soon emerge in the wide area of the school lot.
