The Multigrade Program of the Schools Division Office (SDO) Batangas City is part of the Department of Education's initiative to provide equitable access to quality basic education for learners in geographically isolated, sparsely populated, or small schools where organizing one teacher for every grade level is not feasible. The program aligns with DepEd's commitment to inclusive education and educational equity.
In SDO Batangas City, the program is implemented in selected public elementary schools with multigrade classes. The division also provides continuous professional development for multigrade teachers through training, coaching, instructional supervision, and learning resource support.

Program Impact
In the last three years, SDO Batangas continue to support the Multigrade program. Despite declining enrolment in multigrade school, the SDO continue providing basic support such as personnel, learning materials and trainings for teachers.
In 2024, the number of Multigrade school is reduced from seven to three schools which shows the SDO's capacity to provide needed teaching personnel even to the last-mile schools.
In support of the campaign to improve the reading profieciency of the learners in the Multigrade Program and to supplement the ARAL Program, BASA learning materials were printed and distributed for utilization in thr three last-mile schools of SDO Batangas City
Periodic Monitoring and Provision of Technical Assistance is conducted to ensure the delivery of quality education and to address issues and concerns related to curriculum implementation. Governance concerns and challenges are also determined and referred to SDO offices concerned .
