Communication is affected by media and information
By George P. Lumayag
Since social media dashboards have been the main platforms to communicate family members, relatives, friends, and other people and to monitor and update news about real facts, people were affected by media and information as the only way to know what was happening around the world due to the impossibility to know such information in another way.
Here is an example of communication. Public communications pertaining to the prevention of CoVid infection could be precisely affected by media and information. Government agencies, like the Department of Health (DOH) published the required protocols for individuals, agencies, organizations, associations, institutions, departments, and other offices relative to the prevention of CoVid infection. However, such information could be affected through the utilization of social media platforms, like Facebook, considering that users could also post modified information, and modified infographics relative to the protocols which are required by the DOH or which are under the guidelines of legitimate government agencies. Users could also link web pages in relation to such public communication. Some users don’t even know that the links they have browsed are misleading. This is because if you are connected to the world wide web, you can copy, download, link and even create or modify infographics or documents that could be shared to the people via social networking sites. The information on the web needs to be carefully verified. It is also because creating or modifying infographics is very easy, likewise editing or producing the video clips is a simple task for amateur video editors. And dummy accounts can easily be created. There are few or some account users that might mislead the reading or viewing public.
According to Butch Hernandez (2017) inquirerdotnet stated that “Isolating what is true is such a challenge these days. We now live in a world where “alternative facts” and fake news are lavishly circulated by an army of strident online trolls. It is ironic that the technology that enables us to instantaneously access tremendous amounts of media content also severely hampers our ability to separate fact from fiction.” Hernandez also added that we need to develop a larger set of literacy skills which would help us to analyze the messages we receive and utilize media as tools to communicate our own ideas to other people. We must be literate and critical thinkers to empower us to make decisions pertaining to information, communications, and media technology. We must be meticulous in reading infographics, and webpages, and viewing video clips. And we must be careful when sharing them with the reading and viewing public.

Communication affected by Media & Information
By Kylla03
Communication is giving or gaining information by speaking or reading and writing. In this we need to supply facts whenever we communicate with others. In simple matters like telling your friends what happened to you, we converse with others by communicating. It serves as our connection with each other. Communication isn’t just by talking, it can be in other different terms also, like sign language or writing. There can be 4 types of Communication:: Verbal, Non-Verbal, Written, and Visual.
Explanation:
1. Verbal- communicating by voice, by talking
2. Non-Verbal- by movements, gestures
3. Written- in a piece of paper or material
4. Visual-using pictures or any other things that will visually represent what you are communicating
Communication can be affected by external factors or from the environment around us. Like news, it is timely changing and requires the support of facts and information. And therefore, be affected by:
Media and Information
● Media- the media makes communicating a lot easier than before, there is an internet present today which enables chatting with friends and families through phone screens. It greatly affects the distribution of information, it widens the range in just a short time. There are also TV Networks, and radios that communicate with a large number of people.
● Information- it is the supply of communication, it makes talking, and sharing opinions with others much more meaningful, and with sense.
Information is what we talk about, even the mere thing that you inform your parents that you are gonna come home late via phone call or chat is giving out information.
You see, these two things mentioned greatly affect Communication in many ways. But it helps for a greater cause, we people find the best ways to reach our loved ones and any other people on that matter. For we want to make things easier and less of a hassle, it is called innovating/ improving communication.
