"I'm not your boss, I'm your leader", quoted by Sir Renie A. Marantan, as he inspiringly delivered his message being the newly designated school head of Maxingal Elementary School last September 18, 2020.
He was the former principal of Bical Elementary School where he was known for his diligence and passion for academic heights and school-community relationship development. As proof, he was awarded 4th runner-up at Gonzaga, Cagayan on December 11, 2021 in the recently concluded Congressional Level of the Saludo Search for the Most Outstanding School Head held at ASAT, Aparri, Cagayan in which participants prepared and presented documents of their past accomplishments for the last three years. The papers handed in had been assessed and validated by the Congressional Level 1 Screening Committee of SDO Cagayan.
With his leadership potential, the principal untiringly extends his assistance as Lal-lo North District Coordinators in Science, Adopt-a-School Program, and District ICT Council Adviser which contributed to the excellent performance of the whole organization during contests, trainings, and seminars. His techy ideas and dispositions on different teaching strategies even before the onslaught of the pandemic had significantly helped the teachers in equipping themselves with 21st-century skills. To him, it is always the learning of educators and learners that matters until all of them had adjusted themselves to the optimal proximity of the digital age.
The prime mover of MES keeps on emanating selfless service towards innovations and transformations especially in his new school which is manifested at the "Wow! Maxingal" premises. As a systematic school manager, an improved physical environment, updated school records, and well-trained curriculum implementers are observed. This entails the reality of his vision in building a stronger foundation of education. All these things became possible due to his triumphant perspective in life which continues to grow for he is surrounded by reliable and hard-working teachers, generous and supportive stakeholders, and most importantly, a loving and understanding family.
The Grade VI-Earth Class of Maxingal Elementary School under the advisership of Mrs. Brenda Avon F. Bolando took part in the first-ever Virtual School at Home Observation last June 01, 2021, via Zoom meeting.
Fourteen out of twenty-four pupils attended the said activity as they tackled the topic evaluating narratives based on how the author developed the element-theme in English subject. The podcast is a supplemental audio-aid that was highlighted in the discussion to zest up the activities. Creative video presentations were also observed that had greatly contributed to the mastery of their lessons.
Public Schools District Supervisor Leo G. Casauay, Ph.D., and Renie A. Marantan, Principal II seated as observers. They both gave commendable feedback to the class as everyone comprehensively and actively participated in the teaching-learning process. According to them, it seems that it was like a casual face-to-face type of teaching because of the pupils' normal behavior while conducting the demonstration.
Mrs. Bolando also shared that three months before the VSHO, the class has already started attending online classes. It began due to the recurring lockdowns in their barangay. This challenge prompted the teacher to introduce this alternative learning modality because most of the pupils’ parents could not receive and retrieve modules on time which lead to the postponement of children’s examinations. It was truly a big problem on the side of the adviser until planning and presenting to the parents its positive effects. At first, most of the parents and pupils hesitated to join. Gadgets and poor internet connectivity were the concerns. It only then started from five participants. She still wanted to increase their number. She constantly encouraged them to participate until fourteen learners were attending. Her consistency and decisiveness to deliver instructions still hope her to achieve 100% attendees by the end of the school year.
Now, the pupils are happily exercising the effects of online class in their life. They can easily understand the lesson, improve their technology literacy, and excitedly express thoughts. The many methods, strategies, and techniques presented in their everyday meeting were enhanced. It was all applied during the demonstration that gave a notable impact based on the learning outcome.
It was indeed a historic event for Maxingal Elementary School family for they were the first batch to be observed in the virtual platform of the whole Lal-lo North District both in the elementary and secondary division.
