The RIZAL EXPERIMENTAL STATION AND PILOT SCHOOL OF COTTAGE INDUSTRIES – LAS PIÑAS (RESPSCI-LP) was established by virtue of Republic Act 4571 which was approved on June 19, 1965. It started its formal operation in the municipality of Pasig on November 18, 1974, under the supervision of the Regional Director National Capital Region of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. The school as a vocational institution provides training and livelihood courses in various places of the province of Rizal, Manila, Quezon City and Las Piñas. This caught the attention of the local officials of Las Piñas and offered a site at Moonwalk subdivision (the municipal motor pool then) to temporarily house the extension classes for the students from the nearby barangay in 1977.
In the succeeding years an open lot was offered at Mikesell Subdivision by the municipal official for a more appropriate site, however, it was short-lived for the extension classes due to the objections of homeowners. RESPSCI - LAS PIÑAS was temporarily house inside the chapel of Carmencita Village, Talon III, due to clamor of nearby residents and the barangay officials; the late Mayor Felimon C. Aguilar was able to provide a site for the school at Admiral Subdivision, Talon III, and he provided the first permanent structure a one storey 3 classroom (south wing bldg.)
Justification of Separation
The school authorities since 1995 was already planning to transfer the administration of the extension classes to Las Piñas and successfully turned over its supervision and administration last May 1, 2016 and named it from Rizal Experimental Station and Pilot School and Cottage Industries to LAS PIÑAS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL – TALON TRES.
