Kinamayan Integrated School recently hosted an impressive monthly school convocation that highlighted the talents and initiatives of two outstanding student organizations: the STEM Innovation and Building Opportunities for Learning (SIBOL) Club and the Youth for Environment in Schools (YES) Organization.
The event began with motivational messages from the student leaders. Rafmar Rueul Montepio, president of YES-O, and Audrey Nicole Rance, president of SIBOL, stressed the importance of innovation, environmental awareness, and community engagement.
The convocation featured a captivating performance by SIBOL members, who demonstrated their creativity and technical skills through a recycling and upcycling project. Their dedication to sustainability and their ability to transform waste into art were truly inspiring.
The YES-O also presented an energetic dance performance that promoted physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. This performance underscored the organization’s commitment to environmental awareness and community involvement.

Kinamayan – On October 11, 2024, a significant workshop was held at the KIS Gymnasium to empower students in community project development. The workshop aimed to equip participants with the essential skills to identify pressing community issues, formulate effective project plans, and implement sustainable solutions.
During the workshop, students actively engaged in brainstorming sessions to identify pressing community issues. They then delved into solution generation, discussing potential approaches and their feasibility. The focus was on developing comprehensive project proposals that outlined clear goals, objectives, activities, timelines, and resource requirements.
Participants also learned valuable skills in project management, including timeline planning and resource identification. By breaking down projects into smaller, manageable tasks and identifying necessary resources, students gained a better understanding of the project implementation process.
The workshop concluded with a sense of enthusiasm and determination among the participants. The knowledge and skills gained will empower them to initiate and lead impactful community projects, making a positive difference in their community.

Kinamayan – On Friday, September 6, 2024, members from SIBOL club gathered to initiate a groundbreaking Community Engagement Project. The meeting, held at the KIS Gymnasium, marked the first step towards addressing pressing community issues through innovative solutions.
The project aims to tackle the pressing issues of waste management and sustainable fashion. Students will focus on recycling waste paper cups and upcycling used fabrics to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable practices.
To ensure the project's success, students conducted in-depth research to understand the scope and impact of the chosen issues. They formed dedicated project teams, each focusing on specific aspects of the project, such as research, design, and implementation.

SIBOL Club Makes a Strong Start
Kinamayan, – The newly formed STEM Club, SIBOL, has successfully launched its monthly activities, marking a promising start for a club dedicated to fostering innovation, creativity, and community engagement.
On August 2, 2024, SIBOL members gathered at the KIS Gymnasium to participate in a series of activities designed to introduce the club, build camaraderie, and set the stage for future endeavors.
The club’s monthly meeting saw enthusiastic participation from students, where the focus was on outlining the club's goals and activities. This was followed by a fun-filled team-building activity that encouraged collaboration and teamwork among members. The highlight of the day was the election of club officers, conducted democratically and transparently.
