When Barangay Pinagsama, formerly known as Pinagsama Village, became a relocation area of those residents affevted by the constreuction of C-5 road in 1996, the population of Western Bicutan increased considerably. As a result, establishment of a public elementary school within the village was needed. So in the succeeding year, the uperintendent of Taguig City School. As an extension school, it was named as Tenement Elementary School Annex or TESA. It was first run by an officer-in-charge in the person of Mrs. Benita G. Valle who later became a full- pledge elementary school principal. In its humble beginning, it started with fifteen contractual teachers and 1,045 pupils whose classes were housed in two-storey building with eight classrooms.
On august 10, 2001, Tenement Elementary School Annex, was separated from its mother school and became an independent public elementary school in effect of the republic Act no. 9153 known as an Act Seperating Tenement Elementary School Annex in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig, Metro Manila from the Tenement Elementary School to be known as Capt. Eddie T. Reyes Memorial Elementary School. It was named in honor of the late Capt. Eddie T. Reyes who was the first elected baragay captain of Western Bicutan.
In July 2003, Mrs. Marina G. Evangelista was assigned as the new principal of the school as Mrs. Valle was transferred to Napindan Elementary School for her new assignment. Mrs. Evagelista ran the school for five years. It was during her time that the school enrolment increased rapidly to approximately almost five hundred pupils per year so the constructions of two additional buildings were initiated.
On July 19, 2008, Mrs. Vale was reassigned in the school. In this year, the enrolment still continued to increase so another building was constructed. After nine months, Mrs. Valle was transferred to C.P. Tinga Elementary School. She was replaced by Mrs. Felisa Binuya who came fom Ususan Elementary School. She served the school at her retirement age.when she retired on January 30, 2011, Mr. Jesus D. Moninio, one of the Master Teachers , was designated as teacher-in-charge. He managed the school for six months pursuant to the designation given to him by the schools division superintendent.
On July 26, 2011, a new principal was finally assigned. He was Mr. Joventino P. Bajar who had then promoted from PII to PIII. In the same year, a new three-storey building of six classrooms was constructed.
In adherence to the superintendent’s directive on reassignments of the school heads, Mr. Bajar was transferred to Daanghari Elementary School on September 26, 2012. He was replaced by another male principal in the person of Mr. Leonardo A. Eboña who just seved the school for eight months. He was the succeeded by Dr. Joselito F. Mataac on May 14, 2014.
The conversion of Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Memorial Elementary School into an integrated school was initiated in the early part of 2015, since the need for conversion was beneficial to its graduates who are residing within the barangay; it was approved on August 5, 2015. In this effect, the school became Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School or KERIS. More so, subsequent to its being an integrated school, a locally funded four-storey building of twelve classrooms was constructed in the same year.
After serving the school for sixteen months, Dr. Mataac was reassigned to Taguig Integrated School on August 25, 2015. He was replaced by Dr. Romeo O. Olalo for a swapping –of- station directive from the office of the superintendent.
At present, Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School has grown into one of the big schools of the division. It has 162 national and 21 LSB teachers. Its enrolment has reached the hgighest mark of 7081 pupils. Through the able and sound leadership of Dr. Romeo O. Olalo, Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School has taken off and bent on aiming high to attain its inspirations in proving the best public school edustaion among its pupils and students and in becoming one of the leading schools of the Division of Taguig City and Pateros.
