HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Kalumpang Elementary School is situated in Sitio Kalumpang, Barangay Kalumboyan, the third largest barangay of Bayawan City. Enrolling a total of 138 students—74 boys and 64 girls—for the academic year 2025-2026, the school is staffed by a dedicated team of eight teachers, including the head teacher, one Administrative Officer II and one utility worker, bringing the total school population to 148.
Occupying a 2,500 square meter land area characterized by rolling hills, steep slopes, and clay soil, the school is located approximately 26.3 kilometers from the city center. Despite its rural location, the school is accessible by all forms of land transportation year-round.
Established in 1995 as a primary school, Kalumpang Elementary has since expanded into a full-fledged elementary institution offering a comprehensive curriculum. Housed in four Department of Education buildings with five classrooms and supplemented by two makeshift rooms, the school is currently under the leadership of Head Teacher I, Mrs. Jocelyn M. Trono.
Enveloped by trees and other vegetation nurtured by teachers, students, and parents, the school's natural surroundings offer a serene learning environment. However, its geographical location renders it vulnerable to various natural and man-made disasters.
