Taal is one of the nineteen barangays in the town of Pulilan. It is located at the Eastern part of the town and the last barangay in the boundary of Baliuag. It has a total area of 245 hectares or 2,450,000 sq. m. with a total population of 6,026.

Farming is the primary means of their living. Aside from palay, the place is also known for planting crops like sugarcane, corn, and vegetables in season. At present, there are also some existing industries like penoy-balot making, duck raising, and small sawmills.

According to the oldest generation, the name Taal originated from the word TAAD which means a piece of bamboo which they were using to till the soil to plant the sugarcane. At one time during the Spanish regime, the Spaniards asked the people the name of the place. The Filipinos then didn’t understand the Spanish dialect, so they thought they were asked what they carried with them, and they answered TAAD. The word was misheard to TAAL. From that time on, the place was named TAAL.
