Jacinto Ponce Elementary School as it is now called, started in a chapel at Pagala, Baliwag. At first, there was a combination of Grades I and II classes. Mrs. Salome B. Villaroman was the teacher in charge – then. This started sometime in 1957 with Mr. Emilio Pile as the principal of Baliuag North Central School and Mrs. Isabel de Borja as District Supervisor. The first known pupils in the combination classes were the late Mr. Teodoro V. Ramirez who became one of the principals of Jacinto Ponce Elementary School before he became a district supervisor in Hagonoy Bulacan; Mr. Edgardo Robles, a successful businessman and Dr. Erlinda Raymundo, resident physician of Sagrada Familia Hospital. During those days, children had to walk on slippery rice paddies going to chapel.
The following year, another class was added. This was the Grade III class of Mrs. Clarita O. Samson. Subsequently, a two classroom structure was built which is still located on its present site. The land was donated by Jacinto Ponce, younger brother of Mariano Ponce. This was the time when the school was named Paaralang Nayon ng Tangos-Pagala on condition that the pupils who will study in this school are residents of both barangays.
With the initiatives of the P.T.A president, Mr. Cecilio Gonzales, the school quickly flourished. In 1963, the first batch of graduates was headed by Mr. Teodoro V. Ramirez, the School’s valedictorian.
