The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been declared by the World Health Organization as an international public health emergency. Owing to its high infectivity, countries all over the world implemented nationwide lockdowns with the hope of flattening the epidemic curve. This has led to the closure of schools all over the world affecting the education including Philippines.

However, in the face of this continuing health threat, the Department of Education formulated the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) to put motion the marching orders of the Secretary to ensure that learning continues while guaranteeing the health, safety, and well-being of all learners, teachers, and other DepEd employees.

Thus, school LRMDS is designed to support increased distribution and access to learning, teaching and professional development resources to the school. This was strengthen to establish an accessible learning and teaching resource program that will benefit the learners not only during this pandemic but to sustain the past years advocacy and for many years to come.

The current learning scenario has made the situation more challenging. It is an effort of the school therefore to reach out learners in many remote areas to continue to deliver quality education in support to school’s mission and vision. Since learners face challenges using modules, school LRMDS provides support through learning materials and videos that will fill the gap on this issue.

- Provide support that will strengthen the connection between the materials and teachers & learners;
- To provide access and track on the use of learning resources;
- Modify and enhance instructional and learning materials for implementing Alternative Delivery Modes and Learning Systems.

Internet access is the easiest way to search things that learners need to know presently. However, there are information that internet cannot provide especially if the concern is in the local context. The idea of developing localized materials means more information can give that is visible around us. Thus, this information will be more understood by the learners if they are directly connected within. The development of teacher-made materials with localization application is strengthen by the school to widen the knowledge and understanding of the learners.
