Welcome to Technology for Teaching and Learning 2 LEARNING MODULE". This is a 4-week course which aims at providing you with basic concepts on the importance of using modern Information and Communication technologies for teaching and learning as we continue to provide our lifelong learners with skills that were deemed essential for the 21st century.
The modules were based on the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-approved 'Technology for Teaching and Learning' (TTL1 & 2) curriculum; with technical and funding assistance from SEAMEO and UNESCO. The UP Open University (UPOU) spearheaded the development of the Open Educational Resources (OERs) based on the content of the curriculum and which were used in the development of the MOOCs in this Certification Series.
At the end of this course, the learner should be able to:
1. Describe ICT integration to education
2. Demonstrate awareness of policies affecting ICT in education
3. Comply with ICT policies as they affect teaching-learning
4. Contextualize ICT policies to the learning environment
5. Use ICT as a tool to develop 21st century skills: Information, Media and Technology Skills, Life and Career Skills, and Effective Communication Skills
6. Apply relevant technology tools to classroom activities
This modules will run for four (4) weeks. There are 4 modules comprising this course:
Module 1: Basic Concepts: Technology for Teaching and Learning
Module 2: ICT Policies and Digital Safety
Module 3: ICT Tools for the 21st Century Skills
Module 4: Technology-enhanced Instructional Experiences

In this module, we will focus on defining concepts associated with technology and the use of technology for teaching and learning.
At the end of this module, the learner should be able to explain the basic concepts in the use of ICT in education.
Specifically, the learner should be able to define and describe the following concepts:
Technology
Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Educational Technology
Technology, Media and Learning
Instructional System and Instructional Technology
