Historical Background of Enzo Nicolai T. Teves High School
Enzo Nicolai T. Teves High School, formerly known as Malabugas High School, is a public secondary institution located in Sitio Tinastasan, Barangay Malabugas, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, Philippines. The school was established in June 2011 through the collaborative efforts of former Congressman Arnolfo A. Teves, Jr. and the Barangay Council of Malabugas, to accommodate and provide accessible education to the local community and neighboring barangays of Bayawan City.
Originally named Malabugas High School, the institution got its start with a small team of educators led by Miss Christine Lorraine Tijing, who served as the first Teacher‑in‑Charge, supported by three pioneering teachers. On October 5, 2016, the Parent-Teacher Association President and the Barangay Council of Barangay Malabugas, under the leadership of the former Barangay Captain Kurt Matthew T. Teves, passed a resolution to rename the school to Enzo Nicolai T. Teves High School in honor the memory of Enzo Nicolai T. Teves, the son of former Congressman Teves who tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident.
The school occupies the total land area of 70,768 square meter property registered under Ainfenite Realty Development Corporation, with its permanent address in Talay, Dumaguete City. Strategically located approximately 5 kilometers from the Schools Division Office and 200 meters from the National Highway, the school is easily accessible to students from various areas.
