EDUCATION FACILITIES
The DepEd Engineering Section is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and repair of school buildings and other educational facilities in the Schools Division Office. Their duties include:
Planning and Design: They develop and design plans for new school buildings and facilities to meet the educational needs of the division, taking into consideration the latest standards and safety regulations.
Construction: They supervise the construction of new school buildings and facilities, ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the approved plans, within budget, and on schedule.
Maintenance and Repair: They ensure that existing school buildings and facilities are properly maintained and repaired. This includes routine maintenance, such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs, as well as major repairs and renovations.
Safety and Security: They are responsible for ensuring that all school buildings and facilities meet safety and security standards. This includes ensuring that fire safety systems are in place and functioning properly, that the buildings are structurally sound, and that the electrical and plumbing systems are working safely.
Budget and Procurement: They prepare and manage budgets for construction and maintenance projects, and oversee procurement of materials and services needed for construction and maintenance work.
Compliance: They ensure that all construction and maintenance work is carried out in compliance with building codes and other regulations.
Partnership: They establish partnerships and agreements with other government agencies, non-government organizations, and stakeholders to support the construction and maintenance of school buildings and facilities.
