PROJECT RICHARD

RATIONALE

Republic Act 10533, also known as the “ENHANCED BASIC EDUCATION ACT OF 2013, Section 5. paragraph 3 letter d: states that the curriculum shall be contextualized and global.

This is where contextualization of curriculum is anchored upon. Under this mandate, Project RICHARD: Revitalizing and Indigenizing Curriculum for Heightening and Advancing Rigors for Development is conceptualized.

With the utmost desire to enrich our curriculum, this project will certainly pave the way toward indigenizing lessons, empowering school and community leaders to be firm decision-makers in implementing activities for development.

Furthermore, Project RICHARD will also serve as a springboard to increase academic performance of our students. Data shows that NAT-Secondary is below the mastery level. Thus, there is a need to retool the leadership capabilities of our education leaders.

FRAMEWORK

Our DepEd Mission states that “ Administrators and staff as stewards of the institution ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen”. Thus, there is a need to re engineer the capabilities of our school leaders in terms of curriculum, leadership and management.

Empowered leaders must be provided with strategic direction in achieving the goal towards localized curriculum for Academic Excellence.
