In 1944-Clarin High School was opened to serve the people of Clarin and neighboring towns of Tudela and Sinacaban. The Local Government under the late Mayor Juan Solomon with the cooperation from civic-minded citizens who donated their land made a concerted effort and opened the first high school in Clarin.
The school site is located along the National Highway, Seven (7) Kilometers away from the City of Ozamiz and has a total land area of more than Seventeen Thousand (17,424) Square Meters. Several civic-minded people of Clarin supported the project. Solicitation of materials needed was done to build a building made of nipa, bamboos, and coconut lumber, from the private individuals as well as the Local Government. The Division Office, Misamis Occidental National High School (MONHS) furnished books, school supplies and other equipments at that time. In 1948-Clarin High School had its first Graduation Exercises and continued its operation until 1955. For some reasons not made public, in June 1955 under the late Mayor Jose U. Ochate, there was an order for closure of Clarin High School. It was alleged that there was a financial difficulty that cannot be possibly met the operational expenses of the school including salaries of teachers. But there was a very strong speculation that late Mayor Ochate favored the existence of another school [Holy Child High School (HCHS)] newly opened which was sectarian in nature. It was in the period of 1955-1968 that some prospective donors took back the land by way of constructing their residential houses of the abandoned area and nobody dared to stop them since tha school was totally neglected. Most students who wanted to be educated in public school system where displace: some went to Ozamiz City National High School (OCNHS) in Ozamiz City, some to Aloran Trade High School (ATHS) in Aloran, Misamis Occidental and Misamis Occidental National High School (MONHS) in Oroquieta City. In 1968, the late Mayor Antero B. Roa made the move to reopen the school as Clarin Barangay High School (CBHS), this time with the support of the late Governor Fortunato Sagrado and again with the concerted effort of the civic-minded Clarinians. In June 1968, Clarin Barangay High School (CBHS) was reopened to cater the need of Secondary Education of Clarin Classes were held in the rooms of the old building, under the supervisions of the Elementary Principal Mrs. Roberta Avancena with five (5) part-timers from the elementary and three (3) full-time teachers. The success of the reopening of Clarin Barangay High School (CBHS) was attributed to the late Municipal Mayor Antero B.
