The different agencies of our government are now working together to get the shot that can put a stop to the infamous COVID-19.
With the rise of the number of COVID-19 cases, vaccination is now one of the priorities of the government. Everyone is encouraged to get the shot that will help in ending this prevalent health problem. Vaccines are now being imported. Vaccination sites are now ready whenever the vaccines are available.
Aiming to vaccinate people 12 years old and above, with the consideration of the prioritization framework, the Department of Health and City Government of Davao in coordination with City Health Office and DepEd- Calinan District, prepared Calinan Central Elementary School as one of the vaccination sites last March 15.
Spearheaded by Dr. Jojit Marbas of Calinan Health Center, Calinan District Supervisor Adeline I. Go, EdD and Brgy. Calinan Captain Ursicio M. Ungab, teachers made sure that the covered court and the classrooms that will be used as vaccination area, clinic, security, conference, treatment, screening, registration, waiting and post vaccination areas/rooms are well-equipped and conducive during the vaccination. When interviewed about the collaboration of different agencies, Dr. Marbas said, “Brilliant”. A short but striking word.
The barangay also sent helping hands in the preparation of the area. The private school Holy Cross College of Calinan donated a tarpaulin as part of information dissemination.
The collaboration/partnership shown by the different agencies really shows that with unity, even this worldwide pandemic will be ceased. The energy, sweat and time endued by the people behind the preparation of the site were great ways to show that even with a small period, everything will be achieved.
With the preparedness and unity of the different public and private agencies, the vaccination that started last May 12, 2021 is an ongoing success. Attended by the different heads of the agencies involved, the opening program furthermore symbolizes the unity and importance of the vaccination.
The vulnerable sector, the senior citizens, from different puroks in barangay Calinan got their first dose of the vaccine. After which, they went to the post vaccination area for the observation wherein medical workers tend to their care.
Police men also made sure that there is order during the vaccination.
“Now that the vaccination is a success, from the preparation until now, with the collaboration of DOH, LGU, Calinan Police and DepEd, hopefully, this will be one of our contributions to the government to make things right – to fight and stop COVID-19”, said by Elizabeth G. Ayag, PhD., principal of Calinan Central Elementary School.
Indeed, in times of pandemic, the spirit of bayanihan portrayed by the different government agencies and private institution was a big stepping stone in the fight against COVID-19.
