STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS 2021-2022
"With your entire focus on your goal, you will reach levels of achievement that you never thought possible." This borrowed quotation from Catherine Pulsifer made me realized that being focus on one’s goal, could really go beyond to the achievements that you expected.
In my several years of my genuine service in education and the community, it has come to the point that I asked myself: What is really my purpose in life? Are my achievements in life already responded or served my purpose? Does it make me happy?
I have gone so far that I almost experience everything in life. Ups and downs have made me even tougher. Wonderful blessings have showered upon me yet the loss of my love ones has always makes me weak. Only the Almighty Father has been my guiding light in this very frightening darkness. My only armor against personal challenges. Suddenly, I sat down and reflected. In this changing world that has full of negativities, evilness and doubts, I have thought that there is a need for me to still be of help, to inspire others that are hopeless and unhappy and to keep the faith that there is a forgiving and loving God for those people who are restless.
Thus, it has energized and driven me again to never stop creating wonderful achievements, remarkable deeds, providing something that would be beneficial to the people that I served with – my dear teachers, parents, students and the entire community. Serving people is my happiness. It’s my life. I cannot live without making myself useful everyday. I felt that I should be forever young and forget my worries and insecurities that I cannot make it.
This school year is my risk taking year. Reinventing myself is my peg as how can I make my school even brighter with our students and my teachers acquiring brilliant learning experiences and wearing their smiles in their faces.
The help and support that have extended by the Local Government Unit have made me more determined to the renovations of different learning facilities that will motivate learners to pursue their studies. This includes tiling of selected classrooms including my office, renovations of Faculty, Guidance and Registrar’s Office, painting of corridors and toilets, putting of plants and garden, electrical wiring of computer laboratory in which these rarely happen to be granted in a regular public secondary school like the Caruhatan National High School. These facilities will surely be used and functional this school year 2021-22 and in the years to come. This institution is still looking forward for more renovations and reconstructions of its learning facilities in the coming years. One of these is the school’s covered court which will be turned out to a gymnasium with a multipurpose hall in it.
I firmly believe, that we will be achieving more awards and recognitions next school –year though we are experiencing health crisis.
On the other hand, I also actively participate and tie up in several group organizations and community activities so that in one way or another, I can reach out and help our students. In line with this, I organized some activities and programs of the school that take care of our students in nurturing them to become better citizens of our community and our country. Such group and community organizations that I have participated in are:
1. Adviser of Community Environment Awareness Group of Don Pedro Subdivision Association;
2. Advocate of the Computer and Literacy Campaign for PNP – Valenzuela City
3. A member of the Advisory Council of the Philippine National Police – Valenzuela City
4. Active member of the Valenzuela Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign;
5. Adviser, Anti-Corrupt Practices
6. Adviser, Anti-bullying Campaign Movement
7. Institutional Head – Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines – Valenzuela Chapter;
8. Consultant of Nanay - Teacher Parenting Team sponsored by Mayor Rex Gatchalian;
9. Partner in the education program catering to the out-of-school youth The Alternative Learning School (ALS); currently with two sessions.
10. Spearheads various programs like INSET,PLC,TLC,CIP and others.
Planning has been my priority to make my dreams in this school truly possible. The Enhanced School Improvement Plan, Annual Procurement and Improvement, Work and Financial, GAD, LDM, Wins and Wash, INSET, Brigda and Oplan Balik Eskwela and SDRRMC PLans have strengthened my leadership skills in providing quality education to students. In like manner, rigid planning, implementation and evaluation were done to come up with varied projects and programs that will suit the needs of the learners and the community as well.
Being a curriculum planner, it is my utmost responsibility to provide for the development needs of all types of learners in the school community. I encourage my teachers to use localized lesson plans, instructional materials and assessment tools. In addition, we developed methods and materials for developing creative thinking and problem solving through classroom-based researches and INSET SLAC REPORTS. We make it a point that learning systems were regularly and collaboratively monitored. Moreover, appropriate assessment tools for teaching and learning are continuously reviewed, enhanced and improved by compiling test results, instruments, item banks, teacher-made tests and demonstration teaching evaluation records and its best practices. As a learning manager, I created advocacy programs that will demonstrate behaviors consistent to the organization’s vision, mission and goals such Child Protection Policy and Anti Bullying.
To practice accountability and transparency, roles and responsibilities of accountable key personnel are clearly defined and agreed upon by all curriculum stakeholders. Department Heads and Master Teachers instructional supervisory plans and reports, Teacher Induction Programs, Teachers Performance Anecdotal Records were properly gathered and compiled.
In regards to the management of resources, regular resource inventory is collaboratively undertaken as basis for resource allocation and mobilization. These were planned and done through various on-line virtual meetings with curriculum stakeholders such as PTCA, SGC, Faculty and Homeroom Meetings. Technical working groups were created for smooth flow of work to achieve and implement successfully varied school programs and projects. Also, regular monitoring on how learning facilities are properly utilized is strictly done.
Seminars and Trainings were provided to school’s stakeholders to strengthen their support for the betterment of the entire organization.
In my regime, many teaching and non-teaching personnel have improved both personal and professional. Hence, many of them got promoted with their positions. I firmly believe that as a school leader, I should always envision their growth.
These achievements could never be attained without the support from my personnel who generously exerted their time and effort in order for these things become successful. Success is not measured by the number of times you were knocked down but by how many times you were backed up.
The dream of every principal is to have a school with quality. It is in this leadership that brings about every significant effects on the quality of the school organization and on the student’s learning conditions and as I achieved all of these, it has made me realized my self-worth as a person and I’m very grateful with the gift of life so that I could serve more with extreme happiness in my heart.
