The Cabatacan National High School celebrated its 50th Founding Anniversary on August 20, 2020 at the Administration Building bearing the theme, “CNHS at 50: Soaring Higher and Reconnecting Together in this Brave New Normal.”
The said celebration was conducted via livestreaming on the official Facebook Page and uploaded in the You tube account of the school due to the threat of pandemic.
However, the event was done successfully and remarkably through the joint effort of the school administration and the CNHS Alumni Association headed by Mrs. Lorna G. Vea, the Alumni President.
She conveyed her sincerest thanks to all Alumni who keep on extending their support for the development and progress of their Alma Mater.
Mrs. Shirley Q. Constantino, Head Teacher III opened the program by quoting a statement from Mark Batterson, “Sometimes you need to accept the new normal and recognize that God might want to glorify Himself in a way you wouldn’t choose.”
The stakeholders delivered their messages, they are as follows: Hon. Dante Dexter A. Agatep, Municipal Mayor, Honorable Randy C. Cambe, Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Efren O. Pulpulaan Sr, Barangay Captain of Cabatacan East, Hon. Xerxes R. Almazan, Barangay Captain of Cabatacan West and Hon. Bernardo V. Quigao, Barangay Captain of New Orlins.
Dr. Cherry Z. Dimaandal and Ms. Norma V. Quigao, former school administrators of Cabatacan NHS delivered also their messages expressing their gratitude of being part of the success of the school. Alumni teachers and some alumni manifested also their felicitation to CNHS through giving short messages.
CNHS Trivia highlighting significant events happened in school within 5 decades and also group photos of the batches were given emphasis to rekindle the memories during their high school life. The event highlighted the giving of Major and Minor Awards.
The Best Batch award was given to Batch 1996 for having been the batch who garnered the highest total amount of donation, Batch 2001 and Batch 2004 garnered 2nd and 3rd Best Batch respectively.
Batches 1995 and 1997 were awarded Most Cooperative Batches for having a 100 percent registration.
The school was able to raise a total amount of P173, 968.00 from the registration fees and cash donations from the alumni. The said proceeds will be used for the renovation of the school main gate and purchase of a photocopier which will be useful in the reproduction of modules for the learners. Some of the alumni of the school joined also the golden jubilee celebration by giving short messages via zoom and voice record. Mrs. Madelyn S. Santiago, Mr. Villaflor E. Espejo and Mr. Jerold Noel G. Quigao were the program hosts of the said virtual celebration.
