Catacte, one of the fourteen barangays of Bustos Bulacan was identified by the Provincial Government as a reasonable resettlement area intended for informal settlers living in the locality of Bulacan. Through the local officials’ initiatives, an area was provided for informal settlers and thus known to be named “Bulacan Heights Resettlement”.
This began the relocation of thousands of families in different areas of Bulacan and as promised, the resettlement for these displaced families did not only mean new house acquisition and location but more so a package of livelihood, access to education and all other variety of basic services were fulfilled by the local government.
In 2014, when the enrolment rate of Catacte Elementary School saw a dramatic increase of 200%, being the nearest school located in the Resettlement Area, the then hardworking and ever approachable District Supervisor Dr. Dulce Regina C. Flores, without second thought, initiated the move to ask the kindest permission of Municipal Mayor Arnel F. Mendoza to borrow three house units which was converted into a temporary classrooms. This action was taken by the good District Supervisor so as to lessen the congestion and overcrowding of students at Catacte Elementary School.
Shortly after in 2015, through God’s grace and local leaders’ initiatives, a two-storey building consisting of eight (8) classrooms was constructed in the said area thus made education more accessible for the relocated pupils and helped them easily mainstreamed with the community. The classrooms constructed were used and occupied by Kinder pupils and Grade One to Grade three pupils. The following year, the school did not cease to find ways and means to improve its facilities for the increasing number of pupils. Innovations and improvements as regards the physical aspect facility of the school were made. An additional building was again constructed consisting of two-storey with four classrooms. In those previous years, the new built school was under the management and supervision of Catacte Elementary School headed by Mr. Roberto S. Diño, Teacher-in-Charge.
In June 2017, the school was named after the name of the resettlement area which was known to the townsfolk as Bulacan Heights Elementary School. Mr. Rocky C. Mejia became the Teacher-in Charge since then. The Department of Education through its Regional Office then granted the official operation of the school. Complete elementary course began during the S.Y 2017-2018. In October 2017, the school officially acquired its school ID 102184. However, the school means of resources and finances such as its MOOE still came from Catacte Elementary School.
In the same year, more significant and valuable projects were implemented. The school was able to put up grills and constructed perimeter fence for the safety of the pupils and spearheaded additional facilities. The funds came from the generosity and support of Mayor Arnel F. Mendoza and other kindhearted benefactors and sponsors.
With the continuous help, support and assistance extended by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) as well as the local municipal town officials, Bulacan Heights Elementary School is proud enough to present its wide array of achievement in the field of education.
Since July 25, 2018 up to January 08, 2019, Bulacan Heights Elementary School is manned by Principal I, Dr. Ferdinand A. Valdez. On January 09, 2019 there was newly installed, Julieta D. Bulaong who envisions greater developments and achievements as the school grows bigger and stronger. On August 31, 2020 we had a new leader under the supervision of Mr. Rocky C. Mejia, a Head Teacher I. He continued the good start of the school and brought it to the pinnacle of success. It is now ready to serve the larger community and promises to provide quality education accessible to all. Imbued with Christian values the progress of the school will not merely end in the graduation rites but mark the accomplishments of its graduates towards the ladder of success and peak of achievements in different fields of endeavors.
