Learning continues even in the midst of pandemic. Let's fight our fears and chase learning. Let's start the day with face-to-face.
Bocaue Hills Elementary School, an estimated area of 2000 sq. m., is composed of two (2) 3-storey buildings which built in 2 different locations, north and south of AFP/PNP Housing Site Subdivision located in Barangay Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan was built on August 1, 2012 under the AFP/PNP housing program. The primary objective of constructing these two (2) 3-storey school buildings is to exclusively accommodate AFP/PNP children henceforth, to provide them best education. (Refer to document “Memorandum of Encumbrances” under Memorandum of Agreement, Entry no. 2011012791 Dated August 11, 2011).
However, the plan was not materialized due to limited number of pupils enrolled. A year later after its construction on the month of April-May, 2013, the national government approved a special program under the leadership of president Benigno Simeon Aquino, III that all residents residing along the flooded area in Metro Manila should be relocated. Some of the ideal provinces chosen by the national government for relocation were Rizal and Bulacan. One of the nearby towns in Bulacan province chosen was Bocaue where Barangay Batia is located. As a result there was a sudden increase of population including pupils - transferees. Due to abrupt transfer of the many residents from Metro Manila and its nearby places, schools were also affected where there was sudden increase of enrolment more than 1000 pupils need classrooms and teachers for their accommodation. Because St. Martha Village is a place that relocation site have been built is just an adjacent community to AFP/PNP Housing Site, under the NHA program of the government. The two schools namely: Batia Elementary School and Northville Elementary School could not accommodate all pupils-transferees. For this reason, more classrooms need to reopen for the accommodation of Children. This is where Barangay Batia through the leadership of Barangay Captain Ricardo S. Cruz with the approval of Barangay Constituents and through the assistance of Mrs. Lualhati V. Gabriel, Principal of Batia Elementary School requested to the Department of Education, Bocaue District that Bocaue Hills two (2) 3-storey building are available and must be opened to accommodate all pupils – transferees from Metro Manila.
The request was forwarded to the DepEd Division of Bulacan through Dr. Amelia A. Santiago, a designated District Supervisor and immediately approved by Dr. Romeo M. Alip., Schools Division Superintendent. So, on June 03, 2013 Bocaue Hills Elementary School started its formal operation. However, DepEd decided to annex it temporarily from the mother school Batia Elementary School. After 2 weeks of its studying and observation for its management under the leadership of Mrs. Lualhati V. Gabriel as Principal, it was found out that it needs to be separated and needed another School Head to supervise all school activities to help pupils gain quality education.
On June 27, 2013, 3:00 P.M. DepEd decided to separate it from Batia Elementary, carrying its own name “Bocaue Hills Elementary School”. Mr. Macario Pagtalunan was designated as first School Head with 12 contractual teachers teaching 926 pupils.
After having acquired its own name, the school through PTA elected GPTA Officers for School Year 2013-2014.
The school doesn’t have enough facilities and there are still things need to replenish. There are thrilling and exciting experiences but because Bocaue Hills believes its vision and mission, with the help of God and support of the PTA, this will serve as a training ground to shape the life of every pupil and to awaken their interest in leading our country’s progress. The school administration is hoping that in the next years to come, there would be enough teachers to sustain the vast number of pupils who are aiming to gain quality education in order to successfully obtain a degree that wherever places they may go, they are still proud of their school origin and especially they are aiming that someday they can be part of being a great asset in our country’s progress.
