The Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Program conceptualized in 2004 was institutionalized in 2007 by
Board Regulation No. 5,s. of 2007. The general objective of the program is to promote people
empowerment in leading a healthy lifestyle that is drug-free and productive.
Four (4) Phases of Barkada Kontra Droga–
1. Launching seminar
2. Capability building
3. Implementation of formulated action plans
4. Monitoring and evaluation
Sta. Cruz National High School envisions Barkada Kontra Droga as an organization that will help students free from any form of prohibited drugs and focused on their study while enjoying the program/activities of BKD, a good citizen, and a God fearing person.
It aims to support the National Program of the government “Mamamayan Ayaw na sa Droga” through active participation in the movement against illegal drugs in the school.
It will also provide essential activities for the youth as an intervention for them not to engage on any illegal drug related issues and crimes.
Thus, this organization is a core group support in establishing an institution that fights against drugs with the help of the students, parents, teachers, school administrators, local government agencies and stakeholders.
