History of Binaliw National High School

Binaliw National High School is situated in Sitio Binaliw 3 of Barangay Binaliw, Cebu City. Its territorial boundaries are: from the North, Barangay Agsungot, from the South, Barangay Pit-os, from the East is Barangay Panoypoy of Consolacion and from the West is Barangay Guba. Binaliw is subdivided into six (6) sitios namely: Binaliw I, Binaliw II, Binaliw III, Mansawa, Agpasan and Luton. Most of its areas are mountainous and hilly that is why it is appropriate place for mountain climbing. It is a cool place since it is rich in vegetation of big tall trees. Its distance from the city is fourteen (14) kilometers. The neighboring places of Binaliw, Cebu City are Adlaon, Agsungot, Babag, Bacayan, Budlaan, Busay, Canduman, Guba, Lataban I, Lataban II, Mabini, Malubog, Nasipit, Payaban and Pit-os.

The school started its operation in the year 1994 with 1 class per year level. By the year 2007, Binaliw National High School and Binaliw Elementary School were integrated into one (1) school, thus became Binaliw Integrated School which was managed by only one (1) School Head, Mrs. Ma. Jessica N. Abayon.

In September 2011, the school was split and got its original name Binaliw National High School for the Secondary Department and Binaliw Elementary School for the Elementary Department with different school heads. The splitting of the two (2) schools happened when Dr. Rhea Mar A. Angtud, the Schools Division Superintendent grandted the request of Mrs. Gemma A. Bendebel, the school head since 2009.

The school is armed with one (1) school head and eight young and committed teachers who are always ready to face the challenges and skills of the 21st Century Filipino learners. With the advancement of technology and the implementation of K-12 they have already started using multimedia presentation in the delivery of their lessons for quality instruction and effective learning output.
