HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Banaybanay Elementary School is one of the complete elementary schools in the District 8, Division of Bayawan City. It is 37 kilometers away from the Bayawan City Division. It has an area of 15,000 square meters of clay loam soil suited for different kinds of crops.
Banaybanay Elementary School was opened in the year 1969 and became a complete elementary school in the year 1995 through the efforts and leadership of the barangay officials, headed by Barangay Captain Banie S. Andres, PTA officials, and stakeholders who were jointly working for the development of the community.
The Barangay Council donated 15,000 square meters of land for a school site to the Department of Education in 2003. From 1983 to 2008, the school was led by a Teacher in-Charge; by 2009, it was led by a Principal; and now it is led by a Head Teacher.
