Adolescent Reproductive Health
The Presidential Proclamation No. 731 series of 1996 declares the 2nd week of February of every year as the “National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation” or also known as the “Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Week (CSAAW).” This activity aims to raise awareness about Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation and remind learners for their rights regarding sexual assault as children.
Reproductive health program for DepEd would be a multifaceted initiative focused on empowering learners with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to make healthy and informed choices regarding their reproductive and sexual health.
The reproductive health program would emphasize the importance of respecting reproductive rights, including the right to make autonomous decisions about one's body and reproductive choices. It would also address issues such as gender-based violence and discrimination, promoting a culture of respect, consent, and equality.
The program would likely include comprehensive sexuality education, covering topics such as puberty, teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease (STDs), healthy relationships, and gender equality.
