Banilad National High School is a newly established Junior High School in the Division of Mandaue City. It started its operation in 2013 catering only Grade 7. It is situated along A.S. Fortuna Street, Banilad, Mandaue City adjacent to the barangay hall. It is occupying a land area of 1.151 square meters. It is approximately 2.5 kilometers away from the heart of Mandaue City. It is accessible to jeepneys and other forms of transportation. Since the barangay is a flood prone area, students hesitate to come to school during rainy days due to the threat of flooding.
Banilad National High School strives to provide all students with a relevant learning experience. In its first year of operation, the school was composed of 1 school head, in the person of Dr. Fe E. Magale and 3 school teachers. The school catered only fifty-nine (59) students initializing the Grade 7 level and they were occupying Banilad barangay gym for the meantime. A few months later, the barangay officials agreed to construct a make-shift structure as their temporary school building that was situated in the lot allocated to Banilad High School. During this time, the Aboitiz building was constructed.
In its second year, Banilad High School became a National High School and was able to acquire its own school ID. In addition, the population had grown to one hundred ninety-seven (197) and Aboitiz building was inaugurated. Aboitiz building was composed of 8 rooms: 4 for classroom use and 2 for administrative use. Moreover, the school served Grades 7 and 8 learners with 4 teachers and 1 school head, still in the person of Dr. Fe E. Magale.
In its third year, it unfolded another door for the Grade 9 level. It had three hundred seventy -five (375) students in total. From four teachers, they were already seven teachers under the supervision of Mrs. Marilou P. Mabansag as the principal. In the middle of the school year 2015-2016, the new School Head was Mrs. Catherine C. Requilme. During this time, DPWH donated 1 school building that comprised of 8 rooms. Hence, there were already 2 school buildings for the Banilad National High School learners.
At present, Banilad National High School has been serving our school learners for 8 years. The school is now spearheaded by Dr. Leslie Joy R. Paǹa with 16 teachers with the following positions: 3 Master Teachers, 5 Teacher III, and 8 Teacher I.
