BALIWAG NORTH SPED PROGRAM
Baliwag North Central School Special Education aims to help exceptional children to learn, and acquire necessary skills for their self-help, independent living and leading future life possible.
Special Education in Baliwag North Central School started in year 1994. Mrs. Nenita A. Canuel, Teacher I of Baliwag North Central School, became a DepEd scholar. She studied Braille Reading and Writing. In the first year of implementation of SpEd program, she had 4 students with visual impairment. After 5 years she left teaching. SpEd program was then discontinued. Miss Maria Caridad B. Monsayac, Teacher I of the same school, succeeded Mrs. Nenita A. Canuel. She also became a DepEd scholar for Special Education.
With the supervision of the district supervisor, Miss Flor T. Dela Cruz, Baliwag North Central School SpEd Program resumed in 2004. Miss Monsayac began teaching four (4) learners with difficulty in hearing and three (3) learners with visual impairment. Year after year, enrolment in Special Education increased. Baliwag North Central School catered different disabilities such as:
Ø Autism Spectrum Disorder;
Ø Intellectual Disability;
Ø Hearing Impairment;
Ø Visual Impairment;
Ø Learning Disability;
Ø Speech Disorder;
Ø Behavioral Problem/Disorder(ADHD); and
Ø Orthopedically Handicapped
Miss Maria Caridad B. Monsayac, served Special Education for 15 years. She held her classes in Gabaldon Building for 4 years, another 4 years in a regular classroom and 6 years in a SpEd Resource Room Building which was built in 2012. At present, she’s a Master Teacher II and was assigned to teach grade 3 pupils. From those years teaching in Special Education, many of her pupils have graduated from elementary, high school and college. Here is some data of our former students in SpEd.
At present, there are four (4) National Funded Special Education Teachers and one ( 1 ) Municipal Funded Hearing Impaired Teacher.

Through the joint efforts of our supportive District Supervisor, Mrs. Arceli T. Ralleta and our very kind-hearted Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ferdinand V. Estrella, our SpEd Center was planned and started its Groundbreaking last October 2018. Construction started in February 2019 and finished it in June 2019. All SpEd self-contained classes are accommodated in this building. The Building was furnished with educational equipment for the comforts and special needs of our learners. Our SpEd Building has one Therapy Room with comfort room fit for persons with disability. In addition, there are three fully-furnished small classrooms with
Ø 2 wall fans;
Ø a flat screen television for educational teaching device;
Ø dinning area with chairs and table;
Ø kitchen area with storage shelves, gas range, water dispenser, refrigerator;
Ø washing machine for life skills laboratory;
Ø receiving hall with flat screen television for SpEd infomercial/accomplishments; and
Ø a comfortable sofa.
With the continuous support of the community and educational leaders, children with disability will reach success and achieve independent living.
