History

AMULUNG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL was established on November 27, 1997 when Honorable Secretary Ricardo Gloria approved the request of Ms. Marites P. Danao, designated School Head, separating the school from its mother school, Cordova High School. The secretary’s approval was based on the Regional Office’s recommendation per evaluation of documents submitted in accordance with the guidelines in DECS Order No. 5, s. 1989.

The formal celebration of its separation was on February 25,1998 which was witnessed by Hon. Congressman Rodolfo E. Aguinaldo, Superintendent Mario Ramirez , and Mayor Nicanor De Leon.

Amulung National High School was formerly known as Cordova High School- Anquiray Annex which started its operation on June 20, 1994 with 135 students, 3 locally funded teachers in a two classroom, funded by PMS, erected in a donated one hectare rice land. It is situated along the national highway, south of Centro, Amulung, Cagayan.
