Sto Niño High School with the total land area of 10,000 sq.m. was originally owned by Mr. Fermin Garcia but was donated by his only daughter, Mrs. Iluminada Garcia Ortiz, to the barangay for public or school use in 2005. The next year, the Barangay Council headed by Barangay Captain Marcelino V. Sulit, passed a resolution to the Bulacan Schools Division Superintendent Teofila R. Villanueva EdD., CESO V requesting the erection of high school instead of elementary school in the barangay. Fortunately, the application was approved and signed by DepEd Regional Director IV Mario L. Ramirez.
Upon establishment in November 2007, SNHS started as an annex of Mariano Ponce National High School (MPNHS) through its School Principal, Mrs. Ederlinda P. Dela Cruz. With just 10 classrooms, it initially catered first and second year learners. It only had 135 students at that time who were originally enrolled in MPNHS but voluntarily transferred and continued their studies in SNHS due to its proximity to their residence. Four teachers were initially hired who were then supervised by a teacher-leader. The next school year, it was allowed to accept third - and fourth - year learners.
The Sto. Niño Annex of Mariano Ponce National High School (MPNHS) started to operate in November 2007 with first and second year courses to offer. There were around 135 students who resided near barangay Sto. Niño and were enrolled in MPNHS. Eventually they volunteered to transfer and continue their course in Sto. Nino High School. They were the first batch of enrollees in the annex. Four teachers were hired and were supervised at that time by Mr. Danilo M. Romano who acted as teacher-leader.
Sto. Niño High School had then ten classrooms. It has offered a pleasing environment for the students because of the fresh air and rice fields surrounding it.
The Mayor of Baliuag, Hon. Romeo M. Estrella pledged to provide the needed teaching personnel until such time as the school budget is incorporated in the Department of Education (DepEd) Appropriation. Proponents of the said project are the Provincial Government headed by then Bulacan Governor Hon. Joselito “Jon Jon” Mendoza, Schools Division Superintendent Edna Santos~Zerrudo, PhD, Congressman of 2nd District Hon. Pedro M. Pancho, and Barangay officials and parents.
Mrs. Ederlinda P. Dela Cruz, the principal of MPNHS facilitated the approval of the school’s establishment. She likewise met the parents of the students to gather some suggestions/recommendations.
The establishment of the new school is in response to the provision of the Section 1 of the Article XIV of the 1987 Constitution which states that the establishment of high school in the barangay will greatly benefit the less privileged school children, and parents might be relieved of financial problem in transportation and other expenses.
