Balagtas National Agricultural High School established Annex Campus II, located in Northville VI, Santol, Balagtas, Bulacan, in 2007 through the help of several institutions including the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated (FCCCII) and through the Order No. 70, s. 2008 which was signed by Hon. Romeo M. Castro and Balagtas Sangguniang Bayan. The order states the usufruct agreement of Balagtas Sangguniang Bayan which allows the school to use a 1,500 hectare land to bring education closer to the citizens of Northville VI Subdivision, Balagtas Heights, Barangay Santol, and Dalig.
In the school year 2008-2009, BNAHS Annex II Campus was formally opened with a population of 144 students for both 1st and 2nd year levels. Teacher-in-charge Mr. Richard B. Bernabe was joined by Mrs. Maria M. Dela Cruz (English Teacher), Mrs. Marilou G. Doloque (Mathematics Teacher), Mrs. Maureen B. Boringot (TVE Teacher), Mr. Orlando C. Asuncion (Science Teacher), and Ms. Verly B. Seacor (MAPEH Teacher) in taking over the students. In August 21, 2008, a turnover ceremony was conducted for BNAHS Annex II Campus. It was attended by Hon. Pedro P. Pancho (Representative, 2nd District of Bulacan), Hon. Romeo M. Castro (Mayor, Balagtas), Councilor Ian De Guzman (Chairman, Committee of Education), Jose Lee, Felipe Dy, Aquino Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Chua from Philippines Lumber Merhcants Association, Mr. and Mrs. Juan Santiago of Elco Wood Processing Association, Hon. Rogelio Suarez (Captain, Barangay Santol), Mr. Julian S. Canonoy (Vocational School Principal II, BNAHS), teachers, non-teaching staff, parents, and students.
A change in leadership happened in BNAHS Annex II Campus and in the Vocational Department of Main Campus in the opening of the school year 2010-2011. Mr. Rolando B. Reyes JR (Head Teacher III) was assigned new Teacher-In-Charge of BNAHS Annex II while Mr. Richard B. Bernabe (Master Teacher I) was designated Department Head of the Vocational Department. Upon his transfer, Mr. Reyes requested the school principal to add third year level in the Annex II Campus. The request was approved and by the same school year, Annex II Campus already has a total population of 202 students. Furthermore, operation of school canteen was approved with Mrs. Maureen B. Boringot as the Canteen Manager and Mrs. Marilou G. Doloque as the canteen auditor. In the same year, Hon. Emmanuel “Lito” Galvez (Vice Mayor, Balagtas) contributed to the installation of waterline for six classrooms and in providing three long chairs for students.
The Basic Secondary Education Level was completed in BNAHS Annex II Campus by adding a fourth year level in the school year 2011-2012. A raise of 21% in the population of the school was proof that the school is being recognized in nearby barangays. The Department of Education (DepEd) provided funds in adding classrooms and comfort rooms in the campus. Moreover, the Parent-Teacher Association contributed largely since the establishment of the school. PTA helped in repairing the entrance gate, cementing the pathway, donating printers, medicine kits, and cleaning materials, covering the internet bills, etc.
Through the leadership of HTVI/TIC Mr. Rolando B. Reyes Jr., the proposal to establish a new school was pushed through. He requested permission to separate Annex II from the Main Campus from BNAHS Principal Reynaldo S. Cristobal. After getting Mr. Cristobal’s approval, Mr. Reyes prepared the documents needed for the establishment of the new school. Municipal Order No. 156, s. 2018 authored by Balagtas Councilor Jayrey C. Galvez dictates the separation and independence of BNAHS Annex II Campus and its recognition as Gat. Francisco Balagtas High School. On September 3, 2018, a usufruct contract was signed. This allows the use of 7,252 square meter land in Santol, Balagtas by the school for the next 50 years. On the same day, a Memorandum of Agreement stating the establishment of Gat. Francisco Balagtas High School. It was signed by Schools Division Superintendent Zenia G. Mostoles, Ed.D, CESO V, Balagtas Mayor Eladio E. Gonzales Jr., BNAHS Principal Reynaldo S. Cristobal, Public Schools District Supervisor Angelita C. Baltazar, Councilor Jayrey C. Galvez (Committee on Education), and Councilor Mikee Jane A. Payuran (Committee on Education).
After completing the required documents, Mr. Reyes submitted the documents to the Department of Education Division Office. A group of evaluators and validators from the Division Office visited and inspected the school on March 14, 2019.
Under the Government Permit Number (Pu(N)-002, s. 2019 which was signed by Nicolas T. Capulong, Ph.D., CESO V in April 30, 2019, Gat. Francisco Balagtas High School (GFBHS) officially became a new school in the municipality of Balagtas. With the help of Councilor Jayrey Galvez, other councilors, and Balagtas Mayor Hon. Eladio E. Gonzales Jr, Gat. Francisco Balagtas High School was officially established.
In its opening for school year 2019-2020, GFBHS has a total of 750 students, 23 diligent teachers, 2 non-teaching staff, and 1 Head Teacher.
On June 25, 2019, Gat. Francisco Balagtas High School was formally inaugurated. The inauguration was attended by the teachers, staff, and students. Guests include Bulacan 2nd District Representative Gavini “Apol” Pancho, Balagtas Mayor Eladio E. Gonzales Jr., Councilors Jayrey C. Galvez and Jeffrey V. Ventura, Parada NHS Principal Marissa O. Ramos, PSDS Angelita C. Baltazar, BNAHS Senior High School Assistant Principal Eliseo Dela Cruz, and BNAHS Head Teachers and Coordinators. In the inauguration program, Mr. Rolando B. Reyes Jr. was formally assigned Officer-In-Charge of GFBHS.
On November 2019, Mrs. Ma. Eufrocina D. Octia replaced Mr. Reyes as School Head and Officer-in-charge. The school went through a smooth transition and has powered through different challenges.
Currently, the school has 35 teachers, 1 personnel, 2 utility personnel, and 2 security personnel.
