Background
Ampusongan National High School endeavors for life-ensured education aiming to realize the DepEd Vision and Mission. Moreover, the school is a learner centered institution where optimum development of talents and skills coupled with desirable life values is focused. Therefore, active involvement and participation of the alumni, parents, community, business sector, local and national officials and other stakeholders are greatly encouraged for the attainment of the DepEd Vision, Mission and Core Values.
In addition, the teachers construe the DepEd Vision and Mission as a paradigm in designing and implementing learner-focused teaching- learning process which equip them with necessary life skills. The teachers are tasked to utilize teaching strategies and approaches suited to the learning styles of the 21st century learners. Conduct of remediation and intervention activities is done to address least learned competencies. Preparation and use of varied learning resource materials like Strategic Intervention Materials (SIMs), Museum, learning parks, and other learning resources will be implemented.
Furthermore, Ampusongan National High School promotes a child- friendly school where the environment is physically safe, emotionally secured, psychologically motivating and gender-sensitive in any forms of academic related and co-curricular related activities. Whereas, the school institutionalized its program on environmental conservation with focus on proper waste disposal and physically clean surroundings which promotes healthy learning environment that contributes to the achievement of our learning goal.
Also, aside from a clean and green physical environment, the ANHS recognizes the importance of mental health necessary for the achievement of a lifelong and career ready learners to help in nation building through the implementation of Guidance Office services which is in support to the schools program and policies. Such program includes information service which aims to teach learners life and career lessons which is needed in making life decisions; individual inventory which aims to help learners know more about themselves; placement service which aims to capacitate them to face the next step of their educational journey; counseling service which aims to assist in coming up with a solution to their problems; follow-up service which aims to check and monitor their progress; referral service which aims to give the best care appropriate to each learners; testing service which aims to help learners know more about themselves through valid and reliable tests and research and evaluation service which aims to know the current situation and learn ways on how to improve it.
Similarly, the PTA officers are encouraging active participation of parents during meeting and school programs, actions towards procurement of budget for the vicinity fence of the school for security, construction of gymnasium to ensure smooth flow of activities whether rain or shine and other needed facilities which contribute to quality education of their children. Furthermore, they assure their full-support on the school activities of their child whether financial, moral, spiritual and the like.
Likewise, the school believes that learning does not only take place on the four walls of the classroom so it supports the implementation of the DepEd program on co-curricular activities where students are motivated to uncover and showcase their diverse talents and skills while developing favorable values.
Therefore, the achievement of DepEd Vision and Mission requires collaborated effort of the teaching and non-teaching staff and active participation of external stakeholders. Success of the school is evident when every learner finds satisfaction and happiness in a career they will land in life.
