Rissic Elementary School: Responsible for Education and Service
Rissic Primary School was the former name of Rissic Elementary School. The first building of Rissic Elementary School was built last May, 2003 through the initiatve of Mrs. Zenaida P. Alejo who was then the Principal I of Mabuno Elementary School and the late Mr. Macario Dela Cruz, the former Barangay Captain of Mabuno, Gattaran, Cagayan and former Sangguniang Bayan Member of Gattaran. Under the supervision of the late Mr. Jose P. Balubal, who was the District Supervisor of Gattaran East District at that time with the full support of the former Schools Division Superintendent of Cagayan, Mr.Jose G. Rosendo. It started with a two-room semi-permanent building of 96 pupils under the three pioneer locally funded teachers, naming them are Miss Janet Orpilla, Miss Melvie Vicente and Miss Ruth M. Perciano
On the next school year 2004-2005, while another school building is another on construction, the grade four pupils were housed in Macario Miguel’s house for instruction. This room semi-permanent building was constructed in cooperation of PTA and Barangay headed by PTA President Mr. Reynald Aquebay and Barangay Chairman of Mabuno, Gattaran, Cagayan. There were 107 pupils with three (3) teachers, with them is Mrs. Sonia O. Peñalber as the TIC and two locally funded.
On its 3rd year of operation, SY: 2005-2006. The school composed Grades I-V of 128 pupils with three nationally funded teachers; Mrs. Ruth P. Belleza, Miss Odessa Belmonte and Mrs. Sonia O. Peñalber as the TIC with two other locally Funded teachers.
Due to increasing population of the school, SY: 2006-2007, the school became a complete elementary school now Rissic Elementary School with 167 pupils with three nationally funded teachers as Mrs. Nancy M. Garma as the TIC. Under the supervision of Dr. Teresita A. Antonio Ph.D., District Supervisor. There were 29 first graduates of Rissic Elementary School last March 27, 2007. Another one classroom permanent building was built on July 18, 2006 in cooperation of the Department of Public Works and Highways thru the supervision of the Local Government Unit of Gattaran.
By the mercy and blessings of the Lord, on February 5, 2007, the Local Government of Gattaran, Cagayan thru the leadership of the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Atty. Ramon C. Nolasco had funded a 1.6 M worth of three room building in which it is named “Mayor Ramon C. Nolasco Type Building”.
In the school Year 2007-2008, the school had a total enrollment of 107 pupils with four nationally funded teachers and two locally funded teachers.
Under the supervision of Dr. Teresita A. Antonio, Ph.D.,District Supervisor of Gattaran East District.
The school was also headed by two male TIC namely Mr. Nickoye V. Bumanglag for three months and Mr. Federico B. Jose for 15 months under the supervision of Mr Cesar A. Acebedo. Finally Mr. Nemecio V. Colobong succeded as TIC from September 13, 2010 to August 2016 in the Supervision of Mrs. Minda T. Alberastine, District Supervisor Designate.
The system objectives were being implemented, like no read no move policy, the improvement of the school facilities, like the stage, pavement, landscaping of the school ground, and the NAT percentage increased.
Production of audio and visual aides are also given priority and nutritional status of below normal pupils were improved through the initiative of teachers, PTA headed by Tiburcio Barrien and Barangay Officails headed by The late Macario Dela Cruz and Municipal Officials headed by Hon. Atty. Ramon C. Nolasco together with the stakeholders and administrators of Gattaran Eat District.
