Don Felix de Leon Memorial School, located at the heart of San Agustin, San Miguel, Bulacan, was founded by a group of civic-spirited leaders in 1917 . It started as San Agustin Primary School with Mr. Limbano Tecson as the only teacher. Following shortly were Miss Encarnacion Calma teaching Grades I and II and Mr. Gonzalo Capulong handling Grades III and IV. It became a complete elementary school in 1951.
The original site of one-half hectare was donated by a philanthropist named Don Felix de Leon. Based on Republic Act 1645 dated June 20,1957, through the effort of barangay folks, the name San Agustin Elementary School was changed to Don Felix de Leon Memorial School in honor of the donor.
The school is a consistent winner both in academic and non-academic contests. DFDLMS is very active in participating in the different programs and projects of the Department of Education. The school was a National Awardee of Alay Tanim and School Health Guardian Program and won 2nd place in the Regional Search for Effective Public Elementary School for the school year 1988-1989. The school is the 2015 Search for Outstanding EPP Model School in Agriculture Division Level Champion. In 2016, it won again in the EPP Model School in Agriculture Division Level- Hall of Fame . It is also an implementer of GALINLUPA Project (Gawad Linis Lunti sa Paaralan), Project ISIP, Solid Waste Management Program and many others.
