What makes it MakES?

THE HISTORY OF MAKINABANG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Long ago, when the school that people know today was yet to be built, teachers used to hold their classes in their houses. Children from the neighborhood go to their teacher's house to learn Catechism and Alphabet.

Time has changed since the days of Mr. Enrique Saclolo, the barrio's very first teacher told by the history books. Today, Makinabang has its own school - one of the biggest in the Schools Division of City of Baliwag at 6,681 square meters. The land where the school now stands was purchased in h 1910's through the efforts of the barrio chief Kabesang Yoyong (Arcadio Rivera) with the cash donations from the people of Makinabang. It's first school building was built in 1914.

Fast forward to a century later, Makinabang Elementary School (MakES) is now a place of buzzling liveliness at daytime. Now classified as a Principal II Category School, MakESis located at J.P. Rizal Street along the National Hi-Way. The location makes it accessible to the youth os surrounding community. The school on other hand, has easy access to transportation, communication and commercial services. MakES now serves as the second home to more than a thousand pupils and a place of work to thirty-nine teachers. Its educators are well-trained in the art of imparting knowledge - fact proven by the school's long list of victories in various contests and competitions both academic and extra-curricular. An implementer of innovative programs, MakES is pushing the limits of its abilities in serving the youth and the community in general towards the achievement of the Department of Education's mission and vision.

Molding the minds of the Filipino youth to become peaceful, responsible and productive members of society in the future has been the day-to-day goal of MakES all thoroughout its century-long legacy. This enduring commitment and unwavering dedication to excellence is truly what makes it MakES.
