Gen. Balao Elementary School was established in the year 1997. It is located in the rural town of Solana, Cagayan where we can find friendly, disciplined and industrious people. This school is one of the biggest, cleanest, well-constructed, have well-structured classrooms with TV Set in Solana West Educational Zone.
GBES, as what it is called, is a child-friendly environment. It is headed by Ms. Melinda M. Bacud with 10 teachers, who patiently teach young children with different upbringing and diverse attitude to be a good pupil, a good child of their parents and a good citizen of the country.
The dedicated and committed teachers don’t surrender in teaching despite of hardship and pressure due to the nature of their work because they believe that teaching is hard but it is rewarding especially if they make good change and pupils learn from them. In spite of the hectic schedule and hardship in teaching, the teachers managed to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the school as evident by its beautifully surroundings. The 261 pupils are fortunate to have a very conducive second home to nurture their skills and capabilities to become wholesome, productive and competitive citizens in the future.
Behind the excellency of the school is the collaborative effort of the teachers, stakeholder, barangay officials, community, parents and pupils. It is where unity and cooperation exists.
