Long time ago this place had been a haven of different animals like wild pigs. Two families just resided here and there were so far from each other. There was a way going to barangay Gadu but these families rarely go out because it was very difficult to travel due to the poor condition of the road. They need to traverse forested and thorny roads so they just liked to stay home. They just go out to buy their essential needs.
One day, natives from Macabebe Pampanga came to Gadu to sell clothes and slippers. They walked until they reached a house at the middle of the field. They stayed for a while to rest due to the burning heat of the sun. While resting, they had a lot of conversations. From their conversations with the owner of the house, they asked the name of the girl. She answered “Ca Lilia Juan”. Because these Pampanguenos knew Ilocano dialect they named this barangay Calilliauan.
This humble beginning of the barangay made a huge difference in the life of Calilliauan. It gave a name that will always linger in the hearts and minds of the residents for the coming of years and made a great change in the locality. Years flew and a milestone of new beginning came. Despite the simplicity of life, there rise the dream to have a seat of education in the locality.
It was in the year 1970 when Calilliauan Primary School stood fearlessly through the selfless dedication of Mr. Cipriano Soriano housed in a nipa hut classroom with few pupils. It took few years to remain in its service to give education to the barangay but due to unavoidable circumstances the school closed for sometime.
But it never rest for such a long time. It reopened and Mrs. Paz Soriano remained to stay in the nipa hut classroom with few pupils. The quest for learning continued for few years but challenges were inevitable. The school closed again for few years for pupils had to continue their studies and transferred to other schools for higher learning.
But in the year 1990s, Mrs. Teresita E. De Guzman reopened the school with two teachers including herself. It was a Multigrade School with two classroom Grade 1-3 and Grade 4-6 respectively. The reopening of the school had been a great success because in the year 2018 it became an Elementary School with complete teachers.
The challenging trek had been a successful story to remember for it signified a great leap in the field of education. The journey was tough but it realized a bright future to the people of Calilliauan. The small step made a great step as it continues to thrive the essence of bringing education to the one hundred twenty two pupils. In its beginning it reached its closing but it never rest for eternity. The challenging life story of the school gave a reason to be steadfast to stand firm to achieve the highlights of education.
