At Nagrangtayan-Magacan Elementary School, our aim is to provide the very best for every learner within a caring and nurturing environment where everyone is happy, safe and secure. With commitment and support from fully trained faculty and staff, school children are guided and encouraged to develop their full potential in all areas of learning by providing the best learning opportunities for them. We recognize that everyone has an important part to play in children’s development and that all contributions no matter how big or small are valued. We therefore seek to work in close partnership with parents, stakeholders, local and barangay officials and other professionals.

NMES opens its door toward change and progress

The school as one of the forefronts of Sanchez Mira District, NMES always open its door toward change and progress. One of the indicators of the said progress is the newly constructed school library and renovated school clinic.

The library was donated by Ret. Brig. Gen. Abraham Bagasin through Mr. Sabino Cocos and the school clinic was funded by the Department of Education, Schools Division of Cagayan. It is attributed to the intensive efforts of the teaching staff as well as the liberality and all-out support of the GPTAs, HRPTAs and other stakeholders including the barangay councils of both Nagrangtayan and Magacan.

It is proven that NMES is always on the track of incessant improvement and development. It is again another great accomplishment. Soar high NMES!

Environmental: Technological Awareness Save the Earth

Technology development stresses the need to view environmental protection and economic growth that have to go together. This implies that progress in the place should be compatible not only to the needs of the people but also to the natural capabilities of the neighbourhood environment. People should need to understand and appreciate the whole nature of the environment as well as its use, conservation or protection. What are these environmental elements that need to be protected? Primarily, are our soil, water, air, forest trees, wildlife and fish. The proper care and use of our neighbourhood environment leads to economic development. The development of social values that are strongly supportive of environmental protection could provide the continued protection of the environment.Our school has taught us appropriate solutions for the conservation of our natural resources. In this regard, our role is to participate in the proper use and protection of our environment. Our soil, the most important resource needs to be conserved. On it, plants grow which provide us with the basic needs in life. Almost every year, floods and heavy rains cause damage to our soil. However, we can rebuild such damage by planting trees and Bio-Intensive Gardening should have a carry-over at home. These will enrich the soil’s fertility.Water conservation is another thing to consider. Men, animals, plants, machines, factories and other utilities need water. Without it, many living things could not survive. Hence, we should bear in mind the wise use of it.Conserving our forest trees is another way of saving one of our natural resources. Many industries depend largely on our forest. Trees reduce danger of floods so we should plant more trees and take care of them. educate the public.Another resource to conserve is fishery. The use of dynamite in catching fish is risking one’s life as well as destroying the homes of the fish and killing all aquatic life in the place. These we should not do to protect our fish supply.Air is a vital need of everyone. With air, we live. Men need fresh and clean air. Polluted air affects the health of people. So as much as possible, we need to maintain clean air around by keeping plants in our surroundings. Plants freshen the air, absorb carbon dioxide and releases oxygen.Nowadays, we are very much disgusted by the irresponsible people who harm the environment. We live in this only one planet. We should all make it safe, clean to live in. It is everyone’s dream to have Mother Earth a better place to live in. Let’s protect and care for it. Men must join hands in making it a safe and clean place.Campus Journalism can help inspire local action in building environmental advocacy and in cultivating a culture of increased accountability for the liability of the Earth. Information of the causes and effects of environmental protection must be published to educate the public.
