BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LANGAGAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
It was 1912 when school town was opened, Langagan was given a slot for one primary school. A temporary school was built in the lot of Mr. & Mrs. Filomeno Lacambra. Americans and American Negroes were the first teachers. One of the successful graduate who studied in the first primary school was the late Mayor Atanacio Negre.
When the Second World War broke out in 1914, primary School was temporarily closed.
After the war in 1945, through the able leadership of the late Teniente del Barrio Nicolas Blanco Sr., the primary school was reopened. The site was transferred on the lot of Mr. & Mrs. Eugenio Eclarin along the National Highway. These couple were the first teachers of the 2 – room primary school. The school is made of nipa, and bamboo, so that just after the arrival of Mr. Nicolas Blanco from Hawaii, he decided to improve the school and worked hard to look for wider space. Mr. Francisco Academia donated a lot where the school is now situated. Mr. Eugenio Eclarin was transferred to the Sanchez Mira Central School, which the position was taken by the daughter of the donor of the school site who was a new graduate of ETC.
In 1983, education progressed very fast, The former Primary School became a complete elementary school. There are eleven members of the teaching staff headed by a principal. With the continuous cooperation of the brgy. Council, PTA officers and members of Langagan Elementary School, their aim to be a “Model Barangay” was awarded to them that shows they are very cooperative.
Now as we can see, the school is furnished with different and beautiful buildings convenient for the pupils’ needs of education.
