Oras: 7:30 AM onwards
Tayo na’t magsama-sama at buhayin ang diwa ng bayanihan!
IIt’s a great and rare opportunity to become part of the Magapit ES family working with effective, efficient, and committed employees whose main vision is to deliver quality education towards the attainment of the DepEd’s MATATAG agenda. Not discounting the crucial contribution of the parents, benefactors, PTA officials, barangay officials, and other stakeholders to reach such common goal of the academe.
As I look back to the traditional scenario of every school offering basic education for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and compare it with the present situation, learners are so much blessed with more sophisticated opportunities that will define their life’s success in the future.
The creation of school’s website is a clear indication that MES family keeps it mandate to better serve its clientele more than its commitment to make a promising life for every learner who will set foot on this academic institution. I also would like to take this opportune time to extend my highest form of gratitude to the men and women behind the creation of this platform, besides, this is a herculean achievement because having a website is more than adjudged as champion in wider arena of any form of race. Yet not every school has ably created such platform.
In a larger scope, school can reach out every stakeholder. Limitless opportunity to disclose its achievements, programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), fiscal and human resources, learning environment, and the like, or in a nutshell, present status of all the relevant and concerned area of responsibilities of the school.
As your humble school head, I invite everyone to consider visiting our school website regularly to get acquainted of the following advantages:
Better Interaction with Learners
A website is crucial to provide relevant details to the visitors. Moreover, it helps schools to connect with existing learners and teachers. A website for school helps the learners get relevant information about the ongoing activities. Also, they can understand their academic performance through the learners’ navigation tool.
Open Communication with Parents
School can use the navigation tool for PTA on the website to connect with parents and provide them with detailed information. Parents can keep connected with the management and get an understanding of their children’s performance in school.
Improvement of Learning Experience of Learners
A website for school enhances the learning experience of learners by enabling them to study at their convenience. Learners can hit the navigation tool for learning resources to access the materials they need in their lessons.
Fresh Content
With the help of a website for school, teachers can share fresh content with learners through a specific navigation tool. Moreover, they can update the existing materials to provide the best learning experience to learners.
Dissemination of Information and Updates
The web portal enables school management to share relevant information about examinations, results, events, enrolment, school activities, and the like.
Improved Access to Basic Education
The existence of hardly worked and created school website can attract parents and probable enrollees (balik-aral, out-of-schoolchildren). By accessing the website of the school, visitors can be able to review the website’s content or school portfolio. Either way, parents will be encouraged or not depending on their personal standards, enrolling their children, or availing the services the school could offer.
A Rare Gem to Behold
Irene S. Columbano, MT1
Mam Cely as we fondly call her is indeed a rare gem to be treasured in Magapit Elementary School. But what really makes her a rare gem to us and to everyone? What makes her different and extra special? I’d like to tell you about her by taking a closer look into her distinctive traits why we consider her a “rare gem to behold” by giving meaning to her name based on how we know her even before she first stepped the portal of MES as the new school principal.
Committed- We are aware that she too has a busy life to attend to, but she manages to work relentlessly to improve the quality of our instruction, and look into the welfare of the school as a whole. She is passionate about the work she’s doing, and she is naturally committed to quality and positive outcomes.
Epitome of an excellent leader. Indeed, her actions “create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more” -these makes her an excellent leader and having this virtue makes her always receive admiration from her colleagues and from people around her.
Consistent and fair – She maintains her consistency with integrity to whatever situation that she is in. She is fair in the real sense of the word for she treats everyone fairly. She is just human. She might have her favorites, but of course, we never know who they are for she never allows us to feel that we are different from the others. She fairly recognizes the worth of each of us. She undoubtedly loves us all.
Innovative and insightful- She clearly expresses school vision and goals paired with persistent passion and innovation where she generates brilliance that permeates throughout the school. This is one of the secrets behind all her achievements as school head over the years.
Listener- Yes, she listens by heart. She listens sincerely without judging prematurely. She is open-minded to ideas as well, and by listening to these ideas, she establishes strong relationships based on confidence and trust. This makes her our “trusted advisor”.
Influencer - She has a contagious energy of being a good influencer because of her positive attitude. She has this magic touch in dealing with others and “appreciation” is one of her great means of creating influence- this drives her colleagues to look for an opportunity to do better and achieve goals.
Altruistic -She manifests selflessness. She always loves giving without any hesitation and without expecting anything in return. She is the typical type of person who demonstrates what makes her soul shine. No doubt she is far blessed beyond measure!
Wise decision-maker- Gifted with wisdom and cleverness, she is able to weigh and make tough decisions, address and account them for the benefit of the common good.
Transparent - She creates a sense of transparency- one of the essential characteristics that leverage school- community partnership. Through her transparency, she builds trusting relationship with the people she deals with.
Optimist– Being an optimist head, she always focuses on the positive aspects of every situation. She focuses on opportunities instead of obstacles. She finds ways to motivate and inspire others to live a successful and fulfilled life, too. She gives positive impact on the morale and state of happiness of the people she leads.
Respectable- “The most significant way to gain respect from others is to show it first” This is how she naturally gains respect from others. She simply treats everyone with utmost respect and courtesy- one of the very reasons people always remembers her because of how she made them feel respected, too.
Risk- taker- She often challenges others to “come out from their comfort zones and take the risks, for “With high risk, comes high rewards”. She demonstrates risk-taking among her subordinates and colleagues by creating a supportive environment that rewards not just successful ideas or initiatives but effort as well. Being a risk-taker makes her more resilient.
Empowering - As an empowered head, she has a continual desire of making a difference in peoples’ lives by consistently enabling and empowering them to be effective. She inspires, develops trust, and provides encouragement. Making her colleagues feel valued is her key of making them feel empowered.
Supportive- She fully supports her teachers and staff by encouraging them to continually learn, develop and, become leaders themselves. She untiringly brings out the best in them, and reminds them to be the best they can be.
With all these worth emulating indispensable personalities Mam Cely consistently possesses, no doubt, Magapit Elementary School is so much blessed to have her as great prime mover. What more can we ask for?###
The world stops into each normal way of living. The COVID-19 Pandemic has caused much disruption in the normal way things are done. One of these normal things is the education of our children. Classes have been stopped, learners were confined at home and even online classes were disrupted.
The Department of Education is one of the most affected systems this time of pandemic. The pandemic has starkly highlighted the fragility of our educational system, even those considered relatively stable. It is therefore crucial that the innovation and creativity stimulated by this crisis be leveraged to make education systems more just inclusive and resilient.
Learning in the new normal is a challenge for the teachers, students/learners, and even the parents. After the postponement of the opening of classes last August 24, 2020, DepEd confirmed the opening of classes for the school year 2020-2021, through blended learning and modular approaches. Blended learning is a combination of both online and offline learning methodologies with the use of positive technology.
This new way of learning brought by COVID-19 had challenge the educational system of the Republic. DepEd continuously search on how teachers, students/learners, and parents can cope this challenge. Trainings and workshops on reskilling and upskilling of teachers were done through online platforms. One of this online webinars is on how to create and use of Google meet, Google classroom, and many others. Through these different webinars conducted by the Department, school heads, teachers, learners, and parents were enlightened, and made their works easier as days passed by.
Magapit Elementary School was chosen as one of the pilot testing schools in SDO Cagayan, for the modular print. The modular testing was indeed successful through the collaborative works of the school head, teachers, parent, learners, and the community stakeholders and the learners, as well.
At the outset, the said printed modular learning brought a bit of burden on both parts of learners and teachers. Everyone was adjusting to this new normal way, but as days pass by, everything went well.
MES-102748 makes sure that learning remains unhampered despite the fears and hurdles it is facing, that providing quality education will always be its top priority even in this time of pandemic.
