History
Manaoag Elementary School started its voyage in nurturing innocent minds in the middle of 1922.
Mrs. Anselma Sedano, who came from its neighboring barangay of Nattanzan, Iguig, is the pioneer teacher of the school. The first classroom was only made of a nipa hut which caters several schoolchildren.
Through the combined efforts of the teaching staff and its stakeholders who was led by former Barangay Captain Pedro Agpaoa and the late Municipal Mayor Braulio Maramag, the humble nipa-hut- made classroom was replaced with a much more durable and spacious Marcos-type building. It was then Manaoag Primary School was known.
Situated in the eastern part of the barangay, the school was also known as “Land of the Rising Sun”.
Due to increasing number of enrollment and to manifest its support to quality education, the local government of Iguig help by funding the construction of an additional two-classroom building in the year 1985.
This, accordingly, is a very fitting tribute to the administrators, teachers and school children.
In 2010, Manaoag Primary School became Manaoag Elementarty School wherein in it conducts its first ever graduation program.
As years passed by, the construction of the gymnasium and cementing of the quadrangle followed. This had brought a big difference in the ambience of the school campus.
The former school heads of the school were Mr. Edgar C. Gacias, ( 2002-2008), Dr. Jecelyn B. De Leon (2008-2016), Dr. Zenaida B. Quilenderino (2016-2017), and Dr. Luz A. Guzman (2017 to present).
These brilliant administrators of the noble school have contributed much in making Manaoag Elementary School, a wholesome environment for teaching and learning.
At present, Manaoag Elementary School, who has eight talented and energetic teachers participate actively in leading and piloting its environmental projects, sports development, ICT programs, academic and non-academic programs.
All these achievements serve as an inspiration to carry on with the noble task of improving the second home of the school children, teachers and other stakeholders of Manaoag Elementary School.
