History of Guising Elementary School
The school has started in the year 1940 with the help of Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Ancheta who donated 10,000 square meters for the school lot.
The people then in the community had the “Bayanihan”, a way of helping one another to make work easy without any compensation; a traditional culture in the barangay in order to build the first school in the community. It has two rooms and 50 chairs for the school age children. They also secured the school and the young learners with fence around the school perimeter.
It was headed by Mr. Jose Toledo with two teachers: Miss Andaya and Miss Lourdes Arguelo, the first teachers who taught in the school for Grade 1 and Grade 2 respectively.
After years passed, the school became a complete elementary. The school became bigger through the initiative of the barangay captain, Hon. Hilarion Pascual. They bought an additional school lot of 13, 701 square meters with a total school lot of 23, 701 square meters.
It was Engr. Alcaraz surveyed the school lot in 1962 with Mr. Romeo Catli who provided the necessary school documents submitted to the CENRO through the help of Mrs. Flordeliza Verzosa to recover documents from the Land Registration Authority.
After the term of Mr. Jose Toledo followed by Mr. Jose Maguigad as school head. After his retirement Mrs. Marciana Paned took over followed by Mrs. Matea Tarampi. After her term, Mr. Canuto Marcos took over as principal. After his retirement, it was Mrs. Luz Ancheta who took over as Teacher-In-Charge (TIC). After years passed, Mrs. Winifreda Malenab became the school head but she was transferred to another school with bigger population. Afterwhich, Mr. Ernesto Collado took over as School Head. After his transfer, it was Mr. Crisostomo Batacan who took over but he was transferred again due to permanent residency. It was followed by Mr. Romeo Catli who became a Teacher- In- Charge (TIC) then followed by Mrs. Carmelita Jurado after her retirement followed by Mrs. Flordeliza Verzosa as Teacher- In- Charge.
During her term as the Teacher -In- Charge of the school the RP US Bayanihan Building was repaired through the fund of DPWH with the amount of P50, 000.00. The Special Educational Fund (SEF ) in 2004 amounting to P7,500. 00 was also used to repair the Marcos Type Building. It was her term that these buildings were constructed like the Bagong Lipunan School Building Type-1 Building 3 one of the buildings of the school.
In the year 2009, Jaka Building was constructed through the initiative of the Municipal Town Mayor Hon. Atty. Ramon C. Nolasco.
After five years of being a Teacher-In- Charge, Mrs. Flordeliza Verzosa was transferred to Casicallan E/S, while Mr. Denis Agbayani who was then the master teacher took over as Teacher-In -Charge but because of his promotion to DepEd Regional Office Mrs. Flordeliza Verzosa took over as Principal 2 in the year 2010. She was then transferred to San Vicente Elementary School then Mrs. Caroline Vidad took over as Principal 2. It was during her term as the principal of the school when the construction of the Congressional Library Hub- RCN Type Building in 2009 up to 2010. It was a donation from Hon. Atty. Ramon C. Nolasco and exclusively for the Congressional District 1 headed by the CD-1 Librarian, Mrs. Aileen Damo.
In April 7, 2015 the Deped Division Office received a DepEd. Memorandum No. 31, series 2015 with the content that Guising Elementary School is one of the schools of the Philippines who submitted school lot documents with Special Patent came from DENR Administrative Order No. 2015- 01.
It was Mrs. Caroline R. Vidad, principal 2 who processed the documents and submitted to the Superintendent in the Division Office -Cagayan as mandated by the DepEd. Secretary of Education.
It was during her term when some of these memories of the school happened afterwhich she was transfered to Gattaran West Central School for new assignment, Mrs. Rachel G. Buenio took over as Principal 2 up to the present with seven teachers and one (1) Master Teacher in the person of Mrs. Chelvy P. Salvatierra and a CD-1 Librarian.
The school named “Guising Elementary School” is now continuously managed by the principal 2 of the bonafide resident of the barangay and a good leader named Rachel G. Buenio from 2016 up to the present.
