CAPANNIKIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is the official name of the school. It is situated near a river along the highway at the eastern part of the Municipality of Claveria, Second District, Province of Cagayan. According to former Barangay Captain Leon L. Gamiao, Sr., the school was built in 1949 by the full cooperation (Bayanihan System) of the barangay people. It is seven (7) kilometers away from the town proper. Capannikian Elementary School is the survey claimant of the lot with Certificate of Tax Declaration as proof of ownership with a total lot area of 10, 200 sq. m. At the back of the school buildings, there’s small rice farm which serves as an income generating project of the school. The school was headed by different dynamic, eminent and effective school administrators from 1954 up to present namely: Rufo Ancheta (Head Teacher), Pepe Sales (Head Teacher), Gregoria D. Estabillo (Head Teacher), Joffre Salmon (Teacher-in-Charge), Gloria A. Damaso (Teacher-in-Charge), Verulo L. Taruc (Head Teacher), Urduja L. Salmon (Head Teacher), Alice C. Viloria (Head Teacher) to improve the pupils’ development in all aspects. It also aims to make the school more progressive and conducive for learning.

Capannikian Elementary School is one of the performing schools in the Claveria East District through academic as well as in physical structure. Through the full support of the barangay officials, the GPTA and other stakeholders, the Capannikian Elementary School would also do its best for the benefits of the school children.
