Despite the overwhelming consequences of the pandemic, this global crisis has also been an extraordinary time for learning. We are learning how adoptable and resilient educational systems, policy makers, teachers, learners and families can be.
It is during this time that patience, commitment and even resourcefulness of teachers is being tested to ensure that learners though confined at home are learning the necessary knowledge and skills that they ought to learn in this new normal.
The goals and objectives of a certain school can be successfully realized through the collaboration from among its stakeholders. Teachers as the prime movers, should search out and construct meaningful educational experiences that allow learners to solve real-life problems and show that they have learned the big ideas, powerful skills, and habits of mind and heart.
The Capannikian Elementary School had been chosen by a private entity “The Learning & Development Center of Claveria (LDCC), founded by Mr. Rodolfo Singson, a retired Corporate Executive/ Management and Executive Consultant and his wife, Mrs. Carmelita M. Singson, a Family and Youth Welfare Advocate as the first recipient school of the Project GABAY in Claveria East District (Giving Additional Books for the Advancement of Youngsters).
On February 26, 2021, the founders themselves together with Dr. Jose Marie de Rivera delivered books as an initial donation to the school. The objective of which is to give additional books for the consumption of the school populace, most specially, the learners.
The Barangay Officials of Capannikian headed by Punong Barangay George G. Guillen, Sr. together with the PTA Officers, with Mrs. Flordeliza P. Llameg as the GPTA President and the teaching staff of CES witnessed the turning over of books.
The LDCC through its founders, promised to extend its full support in the putting up of a more functional Learning Resource Center in CES by prioritizing the school being the pioneer recipient of the Project GABAY by giving more reading materials before the school year ends.
